Drew never submits his name for the Emmy nomination

Why isn't Wheel of Fortune ever nominated for Best Game Show? It seems so odd that it's literally the only big-name game show that's never in the nominees in that category.

Does the Academy really hate the show that much or does Sony not submit because they think it won't win over Jeopardy! because that show has been getting more attention lately? (though that logic wouldn't explain why both Price and Let's Make a Deal always both get nominated even though Price is way more popular)

It's well known that Harry Friedman seemed to show favoritism towards Jeopardy!, so that's probably another facet of it.

It could also be that Sony doesn't want to risk Emmy voters splitting their votes between Wheel and Jeopardy, so they only submit the show they think is more likely to win.

Or, just spitballing, Jeopardy has been a consistently better show for years now.

Maybe I’m out of the loop, can you elaborate?

"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Wheel has only won best game show once ( 2011 , when it and Jeopardy both won the same year )

It’s a perceived slight with no real foundation.
