Season 48 Summer Rerun Schedule
« on: June 03, 2020, 11:22:16 AM »
Throughout my years of bring an avid Price watcher, it always bugged me to see a rerun and not easily know which one it was. I aim to solve that problem here. I will respond to this thread daily with the episode number and original air date (henceforth referred to as OAD) for the episode that airs each day. (To the mods: if this is seen as unnecessary or posting just to post, feel free to lock. I won't hold anything against you.)

With all that said, let's get started. The rerun for today is 9052K, OAD 3/3/20. (Credit to TinoStar11 on the Discord for finding the info first.)
CSS: Exacta, 6/3/2019
Season 15 cash earnings: $151,769
Season 16 cash earnings: $274,708 (+$31,284 scrimmage cash)
FPG: 2019-2020 Finals Champion

Im not sure if this schedule gives us any sort of clue as to what will be done this fall, but if were getting repeats from this season now (no surprise there), Id have to think any repeats from September/October, onward will not include S48 since those shows will have been exhausted assuming repeats are indeed the plan until tapings can resume.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

How many did they actually get to tape this year - it wasn't that many short, I thought (so maybe 160+)?

That would last for more than the 5 months (June, July, August, September, October) if needed, since they are only on 5 days/week (so for instance 22 shows for June, had they not had a couple new ones to start).  Normally they don't rerun all of them (since it's not needed), but I don't think there is a reason they couldn't?

If it goes on that long, I would assume we start taping into Season 47, or they just start repeating the repeats. If repeating Season 48 takes us into October, then they just start with 9052k again. It would be like watching Classic Concentration on Buzzr lol

164.  It's currently tied with 29 for the shortest season ever.

Why was 29 so short? I know Bob did just 175 a year near the end of his run, but why 11 episodes less in 29?

I recall the last two weeks of season 28 were held off until the final two weeks of September to air against the Olympics that year, and season 29 began October 2.

My theory has always been that the last two weeks of Season 28 (which itself only had 165 episodes) were produced under the contract for Season 29, so they came out of that year's episode count.  Additionally, one of those episodes had to be scrapped and redone because Contestants' Row got shuffled around without anyone noticing, so that took up another episode in the contract.

Trying to remember, wasn't there a season (late 90s, may have been 28 or 29) that didn't start until about October or thereabouts, because of Bob recuperating from surgery of some kind? Would that have shortened the season, or just make it extend further into June than usual?

I was gonna ask why 28 had 165, but I am thinking the surgery he had around that time was why. That was when he had to have an emergency one to have an artery unblocked in his neck. https://nypost.com/1999/09/21/bob-barker-ok-after-3-hr-surgery/

I see that with the rearing of the season premiere today, they added the Covid disclaimer with the end credits , instead of having the disclaimer shown by itself.
