Well there goes the theory of only drawing from S48 eps.

I figured they would be rerunning last season's 4th of July episode on the 3rd since they didn't tape an episode for this season. And since they reaired last season's college show because they couldn't tape a new one this year to wrap up Kids Week it makes sense that is airing again. Otherwise it's all season 48 at least through July.

If weíre bleeding through all of the special weeks now, what does that leave come September?  Best I can tell without doing a ton of research outside of this thread, all we have left is Dream Car Week that hasnít been re-aired (plus a handful of one-off specials).  Unless weíre airing regular, mostly subpar filler episodes from the end of July through December (or whenever it is we run out of S48 eps), I have a reasonable suspicion weíll be seeing several repeats from seasons prior to 48 until first run episodes resume.  Iím curious to see just how far back they go... 🤔
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

I was wondering that too, if they're rerunning almost all the special weeks this month what does that leave for August and beyond? Dream Car Week, remaining one off specials, and filler until they've reaired every season 48 episode? Will they go back into season 47 and further and rerun those special weeks?

Theoretically, when would they run out of season 48 reruns?

This was already answered earlier, and the answer is late January roughly, presuming all got reaired including ones reaired once before.

If they do run out of repeats from season 48, could they air episodes that aired on GSN or from the DVD? Flashback Friday classic episode when Bob hosted the show from the 70s, 80s, 90s or 2000s

A month ago I would have said not a chance, but now that itís come out that Jeopardy will be doing retro replays from the 80ís in a few weeks, anything is possible. I still wouldnít bet on it though.

80's through 2000's at least....(it's ending with the MDM tournament, at least short term).

But that's different, isn't it? Alex Trebek probably OK'd them, and he's really the only talent on the show. Wouldn't Bob and possibly the past models need to give permission for reruns of their episodes on CBS?

I donít think anyone here (sans the few lurkers Ďin the knowí who would never divulge such details) knows for sure what the details of Bobís contract are/were (or anyone associated with the show, for that matter).  I could certainly see a scenario by which CBS sees how well old Jeopardy! reruns do and makes the decision to do the same with Price.  I could also see a more probable scenario where CBS only sticks to recent episodes or fills the slot with something else temporarily to get first-run programming on the air ó if they feel it would do better than TPiR repeats (doubtful).

If they do go the Bob route ó and if the rumors of Rich Fields returning to Fremantle are actually true ó then maybe there would be some inclination to at least go as far back as the 2000s since itís a relatively safe, non-controversial era.  I would be surprised, though not entirely shocked, if they go back further, but Iím doubtful.  My gut says they stick with Drew and wonít stray further back than just the past few seasons.  We shall see.

Only time will tell, and I would assume we should be getting some answers shortly.  This is typically the time of year when production begins ramping back up and we start getting details of the new season (new/updated PG rumors, set changes, etc.).  We obviously arenít getting new Price episodes for a while, so some sort of decision will have to be made soon to fill the void, and I canít imagine it not being public.

I wonder if they might go back to Drew's early, pre-weight loss years if they do dig into the vault. Could be an interesting before and after type thing to do, somewhat akin to Jeopardy in its' own way.

My guess is weíll continue with Season 48 reruns for a while until itís determined with absolute certainty that thereís no way production can begin on Season 49. At that point I wouldnít be surprised if CBS decides to try throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, rather than just airing the same generic reruns from now until Christmas.
