The big issue with the idea of a second chance show is that you either have to

A) pick the nine in advance (meaning the other 300 audience members go into it knowing they won't be picked, which IMO kills an essential part of the vibe that makes it The Price is Right),

B) find 300 (preferably memorable) former contestants that are willing to travel cross country for a 3% shot at getting picked again

B is definitely possible to do (the breast cancer/kids week/other themed specials prove this), but there's no guarantee that specific memorable former contestants will be able to make it, which kind of deflates the purpose of doing a show specifically highlighting former contestants.

They pulled it off in Season 40. So who knows.

The players that were called down on the 40th Anniversary were some of the memorable ones or the players that returned 20-30+ years after. Paul from the '72 premiere, Pamela who won an airplane on the nighttime show with Dennis James, and Larry from the "Larry" episode. I mean how can they manage to get those specific players when I only remember just under ten of them, for the ones that were memorable eventually got their way up on stage.
The price will always be right.
