Also, does anyone else wonder why seasons 27, 28, and 29 did not have "2x Years on CBS" on the doors like seasons 25 and 26 did? I think that was odd.
I think it was odd that they had 26 years on the doors in the first place. I actually didn’t have a problem with it but in my opinion it’s traditional to honor landmark years to an extent where you’d see it within a logo (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75, & 100 seasons/years)
Funny thing (to me) is that I joked about it to my family how it would be neat if Price updated their logo from 25 to 26. Oddly enough, my brother told me that TPIR actually did just that. I don’t know for sure,
Combs, but I guess it was intentional knowing that they’d update the doors from 26 to 5000 shows before doing away with the anniversary number, but maintaining the design for another 3 years and then some.
I think season 30 (2001-2002) had the worst door design. The 30 Years logo looked like something from a child's birthday party. Surprisingly, the 31st season premiere episode used the 30th season logo (although changing it to 31 Years, of course) before changing to the beautiful starburst pattern for episode 2. I'm not sure why they spent the time, effort, and money to repaint the "0" to "1" (in "31 Years") on the three doors to use on just one episode. They should have started with the starburst doors on the premiere.
I could have done without the 30 seasons logo, but I didn’t have a problem with it at the time. I guess they were going with the routine from 1996-1998 where they have the logo featuring the number of the season they were in until through their landmark episode of 6000 shows. However, given how it wasn’t a big deal to use “5000 shows” for one episode, I don’t think it took too much effort to use a 31 seasons logo before the 2002-2006 design
