Extended version of Contestants' Row podiums
« on: September 03, 2020, 11:18:34 PM »
I know I've already seen the extended version of Contestants' Row podiums, such as The Amazing Race Special, and two to three or four group members as a family, couple or sibling. Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the extended version of Contestants' Row may be used when the taping returns in order to accommodate social distancing.

Don't we already know this?

Seems to me it would have to be even longer though, going off of memory.

How are they going to do that pan shot they do at the top of every show when Drew says "Good luck to the four of you" and every time they unveil an IUFB, when they pan CR from right to left or left to right? They're either going to have to zoom way out or that will have to be a quick pan.

They can change the shot. Or he can change his wording. No biggie.

Unless they didn't worry about having people a specific distance apart, and used some sort of dividers (think the walls Jeopardy uses for the finals, though they could be clear here as you aren't worried about anyone cheating off another player) instead?

That might work, same as it does in other places where you aren't able to be 6 feet apart (stores, offices and such).

I was thinking about that, but wouldn't there be a problem with studio lights reflecting off them?

Not necessarily. They can apply a dulling spray or make them translucent. Since Contestants Row is always shot face-on, only the edges would be toward the camera and that hasn't caused Jeopardy a problem.
