Season 44 Premiere/Decades Week
« on: August 06, 2016, 12:49:43 PM »
All of these episodes were uploaded in 60fps format, so if your device is capable of viewing that, you will find they look very close to broadcast quality, minus a little resolution lost in post-production rendering.

EDIT: In order to view them in 60fps, you'll have to open the links directly in YouTube. The native YT player here on the site doesn't like 60fps, it seems. :P

A couple of notes on the 90s show: this was from the original airing that was partially interrupted for us East Coast viewers due to pope coverage (I didn't record, nor was I aware of, the summer rerun several weeks ago), so I improvised there as best I could. It's not great due to a technical mistake I made when editing this thing together at 2 am, but it gets the job done. :P

Also, because of the pope and failure to record the reruns this summer, I don't have the 2000s and 2010s episodes. Boo.

We have found ourselves in the middle of a situation that is truly unprecedented.  Our favorite game show has taken unprecedented steps to get back on the air with new episodes in its 49th season.  Sure, it will look and feel a bit weird at first, but at the end of the day, it’s still the same show we all know and love.  And despite some of the rhetoric you may hear, whether it be on the news or here on this very board, this is most certainly not a “new” normal.  The ‘normal’ we loathe so deeply will return.  Might be next year.  Might be the year after.  Until then, appreciate this era of the show for what it is and look forward to the day when we have ~300 screaming fans packed inside the Bob Barker Studio at CBS in Hollywood once again — hopefully very soon.

Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

...but then the ‘rona happened in 2020, and I finally captured the 2000s episode.  And probably the 2010s ep too — assuming nothing weird happens to cause a preemption when it airs. 😝
