Didn't take too long to get the first dollar spin this season (excluding the primetime events).

Pass The Buck! One of my favorite games! Nice to see more than one pick earned, and great car win on the second pick (after a Lose Everything)!  :-)

I haven't watched yesterday's show yet (so I'm not sure if it occurred there) but it certainly was different seeing the pricing game prize being offered immediately revealed after the one-bid prize was won, without any interaction between the host and the contestant first. I'm wondering the reason(s) behind that.

Something else I've noticed so far this season: Similar to the early days of Price with Bob Barker, you can really hear the prize music cues a lot better without the audience reaction.

Eduardo was shown wearing a mask during his Showcase Showdown, but not during his appearance in the Showcase round.

Whoever decided to try that idea of announcing the pricing game prize immediately after the One Bid was won should be fired. It totally disrupted the flow for me. I much preferred the format of the past two episodes where the contestant got a chance to have a little banter with Drew before the prize was revealed. I hope this won't be a regular thing, because for me it just made the show seem awkward.

Yeah...calm down. They are trying some things out during this weird time of production. Chill.

That was indeed the topic of discussion in chat today. Our guess is on the first taping day back (Drew seemed extra rusty and there were allusions to just getting back), they did this, then fixed it up by the next taping day, which was aired Tuesday & Monday, respectively.

I think it was asinine to even consider what they did, contestants all going to the same spot for games (I was so confused when another car in door 2 showed up without it being on the turntable). On the other hand they totally get a pass with it being the first tapings back, and it was corrected in short order.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

If the show was willing to make longer game line ups instead of banter by using the prize reveal while the contestant is walking up I am not opposed to it. I could care less where in LA they live because that will be the same location all season and I could care less about what they do for work. Let's get some longer games in the line up and see what this crazy time can do for game lineups

Dang it
I came here to give props on the ‘introduce the prize to the contestant immediately’ idea. I just felt that it gave time to set up the contestant with the proper distancing while describing the prize before the game, as well as giving focus directly on the contestant reaction for a moment, in addition to giving Drew a moment to interact before gameplay without having to take some of that time to give awkward stage distance directions to (some) contestant like in the first eps. Those constant reminders of our current state of affairs would perhaps become a distraction if this becomes more normal than we hope. Love how there was barely a mention of it today.

Yeah it’s different. Like someone mentioned, they gotta try stuff until something works. I thought it worked better. I see some of us here didn’t as much. That’s cool. Maybe it’s just because it reminded me about the old DVD game where the prize comes directly after the One Bid lol

Nothing terribly special about specific gameplay today, except kudos to the guy who put the smallest number in the car price in Switcheroo, so some higher level thoughts:

* They really need to do something about the fact that it's hard for Drew to see the contestant's names in the left two podiums. Maybe they could add an electronic display like the part of the showcase podia that shows the prizes in each showcase. Or they could have a cue card off camera with all 4 names on it so Drew can see it.

* The contestant "come on downs" have gotten much better. I'm all for them being excited, but there's no need to force them to do a dance move each and every time.

* I agree that George jumping straight to the prize description immediately when the contestant won their One Bid was awkward, but I don't have a better solution for the question of what to do while the cameras are getting in position between the One Bid and the game.

Recap posted.

1 note: YAY a Switcheroo setup that's not 1-2-3-4-5. That's a setup that was driving me up a wall.

George announcing the prize immediately after the one-bid was just weird. Hopefully it was just this one show.

Great win in Switcheroo to start off, and it was a nice to have a larger spread in the numbers like Adam noted.

So because of social distancing, Drew helping a contestant spin the wheel is now him spinning with one hand because he still has to hold the mic.

This was a pretty good episode! It was especially refreshing to see a contestant put a 1 in the price of the car in Switcheroo.

I found it odd but I was pretty sure I noticed they played the That's Too Much think music during Freeze Frame. Seemed odd to me to have that in addition to the shutter clicks. I hope it doesn't stay that way.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Wow...this was really obviously the first show they taped, and God help me, as much as I hate running shows out of order, I can see why they did it this time.  Having George announce the prizes right after the players left Contestants' Row probably looked good on paper, but it came off as really, really awkward in practice.  The two episodes they ran first looked much more normal.

Speaking of ideas that looked good on paper, I got a kick of how they shot Contestants' Row with only the displays during the first Item up for Bids and then immediately gave up on it.

As surprising as it was to see Five Price Tags as what we thought was the first game of the season, you all have to admit starting with Switcheroo is way, way crazier.

I wonder why they added the That's Too Much! think music to Freeze Frame.  It bothers me that I'm not sure whether it was somehow related to COVID.

And for those of you panicking about how weird the game reveals were today, I reiterate:  THIS WAS THE FIRST TAPING.  We already know they gave up on it in short order.

I wonder why they added the That's Too Much! think music to Freeze Frame.  It bothers me that I'm not sure whether it was somehow related to COVID.

I would assume it's because of the lack of an audience whose yelling would normally fill the void. Somebody likely felt that ten or twenty seconds of dead silence broken up only by the rhythmic sound of a shutter snap probably sounded too empty.

If this has has asked before forgive me.

Why do they air shows out of order?  If this was the first one taped should they have aired it on Monday?
