He was also one of the lead actors on NBC's crime drama "Homicide: Life On The Street".

And in addition to that, a star engineer in Alien.

The brother and uncle of wrestling legend Bob Orton and current star Randy Orton, respectively, Barry did have moderate success early in his career.  Sucks that it went down from there.  That DUI changed everything for him, which isn't as bad as the actual victim, but the nature of such an act is difficult to impossible to recover from.

George Segal, known for his roles in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (to which he earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination), the original version of Fun With Dick and Jane, among other film roles in the 1960s and 70s.  And to younger audiences for Look Who's Talking and the sitcoms Just Shoot Me and The Goldbergs, passed away today at age 87 from complications from bypass surgery.

Sad day, I loved her books growing up. She grew up right in the northwest where I am from and even started her career at a library in Yakima, Washington, which is less than two hours from me.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

RIP Beverly Cleary. I also have fond memories of reading her books for a summer reading program at the library when I was growing up.

Another death to report today is author & screenwriter Larry McMurtry, who won a Pulitzer Prize for the novel Lonesome Dove. McMurtry also wrote The Last Picture Show and Terms of Endearment, with both adapted into Oscar-winning films. McMurtry also won an Academy Award for adapting Annie Proulx's short story Brokeback Mountain in 2005. McMurtry was 84 when he passed away on March 25; the cause of death was heart failure.
