I don’t recall Art James or Art Fleming or Garry Moore making comments like this during the Hong Kong flu.
COVID-19 is different. And more serious.

As for Jon, regulations vary from region to region.

Hong Kong flu was one of the deadliest and most serious pandemics in history. I remember it as it was happening. Like I said, to my knowledge game show hosts didn’t talk about it. They realized their shows were to entertain, even those hosting hard quizzers.

Personally, keeping my own views aside here just for the sake of creating an even bigger firestorm which I really would rather not do (and why I've said little to nothing on this on this board since this mess began last year for that matter), I could do without a lot of the in your face part of this too, in regards to Price and really everywhere else too. It's turned me off much of media to be quite honest, the world is lousy enough to have literally nowhere to escape from it like we had at least in some form in the past. It's become so interconnected that it's annoying. And honestly I don't see it getting any better with time, probably only worse.

Anyway, let’s not turn this thread into a political debate.

Is politics OK here? Can a moderator ban people because they disagree politically? Is being a right winger a bad thing? A right wing source is fake news? I was hoping this would be a friendly place after lurking for a while.

Short term ratings don't mean much. Down 3% now could be up 2% next month.

Has anyone considered that the ratings may be down because television viewership is down in general? Less people are watching television nowadays, especially daytime television.
YES! You have them all right! You win $2,500! You will putt from the closest line!

Jhc2010 putts from the closest line and WINS!!!

Congratulations! Those 2 cars are yours! Now we go to the Showcase Showdown! You will spin first. Pick a number between 1 and 20.

LMAD down significantly (-31% and -27% in the demo, half-hour 1 and half-hour 2) and that show is arguably more or less in a normal situation relative to virus restrictions, perhaps enhanced with the play from home wrinkle. Perhaps The Talk as a diminished lead-in in most markets is a factor.

I am happy as long as Tiffany is there.

What about the studies that say the opposite? There are plenty. Are you discounting those?

I don’t recall Art James or Art Fleming or Garry Moore making comments like this during the Hong Kong flu. Game shows are an escape.

Wearing a face covering isn’t political. Studies or no studies, and the fact that the vast majority of reputable ones arrive at the same conclusion regarding efficacy aside, it’s a health issue.

As for Fleming and Moore—hi, it’s 2021. Things change. Things are different. The world moves ahead. Bill Cullen didn’t ask to have pets neutered but Barker did. Big whoop. Still not political.

I never said it wasn’t a big deal, I just pointed out there were differences in opinion even by the experts. Please don’t put words in my mouth.

I hope I have a right to defend myself.

All right we've ventured so far off topic I don't see us getting back on target. Therefore I'm just gonna shut this thread down.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.
