With only one car symbol showing after my first roll, I would have rolled again as well. And the second roll didn’t “cost” the contestant anything. 😊

10 Chances! One of my favorite games! The player and at least one of those in Contestant’s Row definitely did not know the “zero rule”. He had three chances for the car, but one can be considered wasted because of this. Reasonable use of the other two; I thought the car was $19K as well.

Just like the show that aired on my birthday (2/22), it wasn't all that great. Both featured Double Cross losses, except that this time it was a tougher setup to the point where Drew gave is "What?" reaction, often indicating a tougher setup. Both possibilities followed the distance rule and were at least $5K, but the higher pair ended up being the correct choice. Let 'Em Roll featured "gourmet"-level juice for a decent-sized container that was missed, but at least $3K isn't too shabby. Secret "X" shouldn't have been handled as badly as it was, given the fairly generous setup of center X and SPs that weren't so tough, and frankly, we almost missed out on revealing its location based on Drew's banter after the wipeout. 10 Chances wasn't badly played, but it wasn't great either, and $18K is a little higher than normal for a Mirage (note how you can hear the marker just like in many Match Game episodes?). Flippy was your typical contestant who went a bit too far, knowing that the only reason to Flip and Flop is if the Flop would result in a 5, 9, or 0, and it wasn't here. Danger Price was the only win thanks to jukebox technology that allows them to be purchased for a fraction of the price compared to the "On The Radio" days. Showcase #1 was tricky with an expensive Bahamas trip, and I felt that the CR bidder with her $35K suggestion was crazy, but it turned out to be a very good guess. Showcase #2 was more straight forward, but come on, $32K for a non-car/boat/trailer SC? Just not the wisest move and it was clear who the winner was as soon as his bid was locked in. A 1+.5+.5/6 show is pretty similar to a 2/6 overall, but average is all I can say about today's show.

With only one car symbol showing after my first roll, I would have rolled again as well.
With me, $3000 with one car and one roll left is in the "How badly do I need $3000?" zone. The "expected cash value" of the roll, if you don't win the car, is about $2133.

That's a good question to me as well. I'll officially add what I was thinking: with one roll left, and one car symbol & $3000 showing, I would have rolled again as well. :)

For me, it's borderline painful to watch someone play 10C without knowing the zero rule. Every guess without the zero rule I was like "NO!!"

Larhonda and Gail were both very loud during Ten Chances.  They were also very wrong during Ten Chances.  There is nothing quite so annoying as people shouting bids that don't end in zero over everyone else in the room (which, granted, isn't very hard right now, but still).

If other contestants are shouting non-zero bids, that begs the question...are they intentionally sabotaging someone to lose in hopes they get up on stage and then get to spin later in Showcase Showdown by winning and pushing the other contestant to lose?

^Nah. One of the contestants in the row was the reason why Edgar bid $32,000 on his showcase.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

I don't think anything could be ever more opposed to the spirit of The Price is Right than intentionally trying to cost somebody else a car so they can (maybe) have a 3% greater chance of winning the SCSD later.

Give the contestants some credit, they're wrong but they're playing in good faith.
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Also good to keep in mind the zero rule has never been verbalized. Unless you're a die hard fan like one of us or someone very observant who watches every 10 Chances playing the zero rule can go unnoticed. That on top of nerves getting the best of you can lead to guesses not ending in 0.

Pretty easy Danger Price, the tools were the most likely to be $1,458.

They've been making the setups for the GP portion pretty mean lately in Let em Roll. $3,000 certainly would've been tempting to take with just 1 roll left, I might've rolled again just to see if I could get more cash. At least he didn't lose anything in the end rolling again.

Tough Double Cross, 3 of the 4 options were quite viable.

Ugh, 10 Chances started off so promising getting the pitcher in 1 try. The laptop should've been really easy, with $730 and $790 the only options making sense ($3xx being too low and $9xx being too high).

Can't blame John too much for wiping out on Secret X, the fake prices were at least somewhat deceptive. First wipeout since season 45 I believe.

If other contestants are shouting non-zero bids, that begs the question...are they intentionally sabotaging someone to lose in hopes they get up on stage and then get to spin later in Showcase Showdown by winning and pushing the other contestant to lose?
That's completely unimaginable, from what it looks like the contestants are very supportive of each other and want everyone to win. Even if the on-stage contestant loses, there's no guarantee the next one will win anyway.
