One Away: Had Brian stuck with his initial instinct about the car being $19k, he would've won easily.

SCSD: I was ready to boo Christine for her bonus spin, but it just flicked to the nickel for $10,000. Phew! Drew seemed rather rushed at that point, as he barely acknowledged her win and threw it quickly to commercial.

Showcases: As soon as they revealed Christine's $301 difference first, it was pretty clear what was coming. They simply don't reveal a $301 SC difference first unless the other person has done better. She deserved to win with a bid that good--too bad there's no rule to allow that. Of course, congrats to Jack as well!

Well. That was an awkward transition/introduction to Hot Seat. I'm glad Jack stopped with the $10K; I would have as well.

Drew sounded rather underwhelmed with the double showcase win. (I thought today's Price was supposed to be really high energy.) I really missed Bob's "You win BOTH showcases!"

Between Gonzaga’s buzzer-beater on Saturday and a DSW today, I’m surprised I haven’t completely lost my voice from screaming over these past several days.

Tough to bid $301 away from your showcase and lose. Reminds me of the perfect bid back in 2008, where the other contestant underbid by $494.

Although they might do that way also if his bid had been a really close overbid (like the ARP was $22,860 or something)?  Since with one that close, it would be easy enough to stretch the reading of the $22,86... out.

She might have been closer if she knew not to end her bid in 000-250.

HOLY. GUACAMOLE. That was probably the closest from both bidders we've had in quite a long time. What an amazing capper to a pretty good ep.

I don't understand why they've done so much messing around with Hot Seat's intro this year.  It looked perfectly fine when they used the normal opening last time they played it.

Then again, Hot Seat in general felt a little off today, so much so that I'm not completely sure they didn't do the intro and edit it out.  A few different things about the production didn't look quite right, including the timing of the sound effects in the first half of the game.

They really, really need to loosen the Big Wheel.  Neither of Christine's spins was particularly week, and yet they both barely got all the way around.

I had a hunch Jack had won both showcases when they revealed the price of Christine's first.  They don't generally start with a difference that small unless the other one is even smaller.
