The Masters 2021
« on: April 08, 2021, 07:00:19 AM »
The Masters returns to CBS (and ESPN) for the second time in the past six months and the first time in its traditional spot since 2019.  Favorites include DeChambeau, Thomas, Spieth, JD, and Rahm.  Right now I have a feeling that someone unknown might take the title this season

Well, history has been made, as Hideki Matsuyama becomes the first Japanese man to win a golf major.  Nice!

Congrats!  It's not easy picking a winner in a golf tournament, especially in the PGA or within a major.  However, I had watched a lot of golf outside of the major events. Hideki has been rather good over the years, so this was due.  FWIW, this is 10 years removed from his amateur win at Augusta

Some sloppy play throughout, highlighted (or lowlighted  in this case) by Schauffele's late triple bogey. Matsuyama winning by a stroke was far from a heart stopper as he should have sunk the gimme to start with. Either way he had it in the bag.
