The mannequin thing was funny I guess, the writing in the first Showcase was pretty clever. Hopefully by next year we'll have the audience again and things will be more normal and they can do something a little bit bigger for April Fools.

Major props to whoever figured out how to shoot one of the mannequins driving out the car for Lucky $even.  That was beautifully ridiculous.

Interestingly, there seems to have been an actual blooper today -- after the opening, the bottom-right segment of the Turntable wall got stuck on dark purple.  It wasn't really noticeable during Act 1, but when all the rest of the panels turned blue during Act 2, it stuck out like a sore thumb, and even more so when they turned gray for Squeeze Play.  They must not have been able to fix it quickly, because after that, all the panels turned dark purple for the rest of the show.

I was finishing my breakfast at 10:00 a.m., so I tuned to CBS to see whether the show would do anything for April Fools' Day. I thought the mannequin gag was a fun idea, although it wasn't a great sign when during Punch a Bunch, no one seemed to be on the same page as to what exactly the joke was (was it that the mannequins were supposed to be doing the models' jobs, but Amber and James had to step in and do it for them?). When no mannequins physically showed up during both the third One Bid and pricing game, I figured the joke was over, so I turned off the TV.

The mannequins had potential, but the show needed to commit to the bit.

It wasn't nearly as bad as Mimi (Kathy Kinney) taking over the show and having everyone named Drew.
