Sunday was weird. The Giants beating the Raiders, the Jaguars beating the Bills, and the Broncos not only beating the Cowboys but having a 30-0 lead at one point.

What's really interesting now is AFC West race which LITERALLY has all 4 teams within a 1/2 game of each other. Raiders and Chargers are both 5-3 and Chiefs and Broncos are both 5-4. All 4 teams have had their ups and downs. The AFC West is turning into a fascinating and unpredictable race.

It was a crazy week indeed.  Really both in the professional & collegiate levels!

It's not just the AFC West that's tight.  It's the AFC as a whole.  11 out of 16 teams have a winning record after 9 weeks / half the second, which is rather unprecedented.  With a Colts win, 75% of the conference will be at .500 or better.  Out of the teams with a winning record the team in 11th place (or in reality, currently tied in 7th place amongst five teams) is only two back of the leader (Tennessee).

The AFC has no clear-cut favorite, especially after Sunday's set of upsets.  Tennessee could roll, New England could make a run & emulate 2001, and both Buffalo & Cleveland can regain their 2020 magic.  Baltimore is probably the team I think will represent the AFC.  They're likely getting into the postseason, and that's all it takes.  Houston and New York are done; Miami probably can't make a run given their opponents and total outlook.  Jacksonville could make a run.  Helps that they're in the worst division; 7-2 is a tough ask.  5-4 seems reasonable for Jacksonville, at which point it would've been nice if they'd won 2 or 3 games in addition to their wins over Miami and Buffalo.

Meanwhile, the NFC features one team that might be the team to beat, but it's a different team every-so-often.  That includes Tampa, Green Bay, Dallas, Arizona, & Los Angeles.  Everyone else likely has to fight for two wildcard spots (non NFC West winner probably gets that 5th seed).  Everyone except Detroit because the Lions are glorified garbage.

Big Thursday news includes Cam Newton's return to Carolina and OBJ choosing the Rams for his third team following his stint in Cleveland

Yeesh. Febreze couldn't remove the stink the Falcons made in their 43-3 loss to Dallas. It gets no less daunting as they have a short week to prepare for New England Thursday.

Meanwhile, we had our first sister-kisser of the season between the Lions and the Steelers. Najee Harris pulled a Donovan McNabb by saying he didn't know NFL games can end in ties.

Unlike Najee Harris, Donovan was a veteran when he made that pathetic error.  Harris isn't the leader of the team either.  BTW, pathetic use or lack of use by the Steelers on their star RB.

Looks like the Chiefs are back to being the Chiefs for now, while the Packers might be in a better position to get that top seed after all since Tampa is a mess

Well good news by the shores of Lake Erie (Unless you're a Detroit Lions fan). Running backs Nick Chubb have been activated from the COVID/Reserve list, and should be active Sunday for the Browns.

There's rarely good news for a Lions fan. Even there best things (Barry Sanders and Megatron) got cut short.  They haven't won a playoff game since 1991, and they've never been to a Super Bowl. I know we don't think about curses in the NFL like we do in MLB, but I'm starting to think the Curse of Bobby Layne is real.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers.

What's crazy is that Detroit doesn't have the longest drought when it comes to winning a playoff game.  The fact is the Lions weren't expected to be good, though I didn't think they'd be this bad

YES!!!!!!!!! My Cardinals are 9-2 after hanging on to beat the division rival Seahawks 23-13 as Colt McCoy was fantastic in his backup quarterback role completing an impressive 35 of 44 passes for 328 and 2 touchdowns while godsend acquisition Zach Ertz caught 8 passes for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cardinals win today was totally awesome baby. GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!! :)

I don't know if I'd crown Arizona (and if the Cards won, the NFC would have its 12th Superbowl winner, to go with the second division to have all of its member as super bowl winners at least once since 1966).  The fact is they're the only 2 loss team prior to Thanksgiving.  It's so competitive now.  I imagine teams will start to pull away, but it's rare (and exciting) to be in the unknown.  Especially with a 17-game season & 14 postseason teams!

Atlanta@Jacksonville this Sunday is Pick 'Em. Wouldn't surprise me if the Jaguars blew the Falcons out of the water.
