* Love, love, love the progression of the graphics in Cover Up (i.e. 1972 last time, 1973 this time.) A typical season sees Cover Up played between 20 and 25 times, so we'll get to somewhere between 1991 & 1996 if they keep this pattern up. And don't ask me how the contestant knew to pick 0 third, but as Wayoshi has pointed out multiple times, that seems to be a nasty pattern they're using this season.

* We learned about some bailout options in To the Penny today. Apparently, you can bailout any time before you make a pick, so if you have two or more pennies, there's no reason to stop. What I wasn't clear on was if you used a penny to eliminate a price, can you still bailout or do you have to go for it? If you can bailout after eliminating a price, then there was no reason for the contestant to stop today without at least seeing which sunscreen price would be eliminated.

* The Master Key was in the middle?! Good for the contestant for picking it, but after seeing the Cover Up setup, I didn't think they'd make MK so easy.

Drew also asked if she wanted to bail with $6,000 with three pennies left, when there was absolutely zero reason to do that, so "you can quit anytime" seems to mean that you can quit literally anytime.

Seems like once the contestant's money was at risk she knew didn't want to lose $6,000 and seeing one price eliminated wasn't going to change her mind.

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

And don't ask me how the contestant knew to pick 0 third, but as Wayoshi has pointed out multiple times, that seems to be a nasty pattern they're using this season.

Before today, three out of 19 vehicles (with a known price this season) have had a zero as the middle digit, at least according to my count.  Today's CHR LE was also featured on 9/13 for $23,067 (Money Game), so at least we've seen this particular model before.  It's too early to know if this will be a trend, but with ~15% of automobiles having zero as the middle digit only 12 episodes into the season, it's certainly an interesting observation and something to watch for.

This is a thought of mine that will undoubtedly change with time once we have a larger sampling of playings, but I do wonder if Penny would work better if the 'one penny to remove a random wrong price' rule were amended to 'one penny to make a free choice without having to lose two pennies if you are wrong.'  We only have two playings to look at, but neither contestant so far has opted for the randomized removal option.  This is another trend I'm curious to watch.

To maintain a bit of difficulty with my proposal, contestants wishing to use this option could be locked into playing for that dollar amount with no bailout once they make the choice to use their penny.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.
