I mean both $10,000 spaces being punched.
Okay thank you. Personally if it happened back in the day, it might have occurred on an episode where someone won it with at least one punch to claim, but Bob didn't look into the hole. Only God knows (and maybe the staff) what the amount might have been in those unrevealed amounts. Nonetheless I haven't seen it or can recall it. Who knows; maybe as those retro Price episodes drop over the next several years there could be an episode where both were punched out. I wouldn't bet on it; FWIW there was an episode in Season 21 where someone got both $5K and $10K (fortunately the $10,000 preceded it); the odds of that are probably slim as well.
There's nothing today's winner could've done with his situation, at least without stress. It's not often that one would've been better off getting a lesser amount, but it might have resulted in twice as much money. The question is how much less. I don't know if he walks with $2,500. $1,000 is probable with 2 punches left. At least the 4th punch wasn't the $25,000 one.
Speaking of that, 4645D was the episode where someone also hit $5,000 right before $10,000. However, the guy quit at $500 for his second punch. Another painful Punch A Bunch, but he wasn't going to get to $10,000 anyway. Something I brought up elsewhere as it relates to tough luck on the Punchboard.
ETA a response to the followingVery painful Punch A Bunch, at least a pretty good ($5000) consolation prize. I've found it interesting each playing of cover up this season, Drew completely ignores the idea behind the theme of each year and just says something like "we've got a great graphics department, here's some of our games on the show", unless he doesn't "get it" yet. Not everybody knows which year race game debuted off hand.
Meh. It's probably just Drew being Drew. He's not great when it comes to detail. Take Punch for example; while he hasn't said so in a long time, he doesn't remind the players to leave the slip in the hole. I guess it's common sense & is explained off-camera, but those little things that Carey omits is a knock on him to some. Overtime, I don't have a problem with it; not a total big deal.
It is surprising though since you'd think he would make mention to it. Of course, it could be that he is aware, but just doesn't care. Plus, some people might get sick of him saying something about the Cover Up Wrong Price for each playing
