Question about the nighttime price is right

When did the 1972-1980 version of the Nighttime Price is Right start to have star graphics in the introduction?  And why not the border instead?

It debut during Bob's tenure as host. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when; since the only episode circulating from his run is the final episode. So it could be anywhere from 196N-300N. Possibly at the start of one of the seasons.

To answer your other question, they probably wanted to do something to differentiate between the two versions. They even changed a part of the opening narration to "an audience sparkling with excitement" to match up with keyed-in studio lights pan.

Also did the nighttine Price is Right (1972-1980 version and 1985-1986 version) institute the bonus for getting a IUFB price right on the nose?

To my knowledge, the 1972-1980 version did not have a bonus.

The Kennedy version did. The bonus was $500 for part of its run.

The bonus was initially $100. From what I can determine, it was increased to $500 by #0081N (the 36th episode), recorded on May 14, 1985.

Crazy how they bumped it up to $500, but no DSW.  Well, not that crazy since a DSW would've been quite the thing
