CSS Results for May 25
« on: May 25, 2007, 02:58:08 PM »
Maybe I'll do some more commentary when I'm not so steamed at myself for blowing a DSW today by less than than $250.

Congratulations though to FPGWillyT for joining the Exacta Club, and to BRB_TheFireball for adding to his DSW and money records.

Army, I know you haven't DSWd. But look at that total difference and be proud!

(At the Team GRRR garage)

Wow, what a way to end the regular season - with a Big One!  But making the playoffs is a great achievement, I know I will do the team proud

*in the Team GRRR Garage, several crew members bring in large chunks of metal that used to be the #102 GoIslanders.com Ford*

Yeesshh...  :-x

Willy Tynan gets an impressive win as we've got trouble in Turn 4 on the final lap of the season!  GoldenBulldog hits the wall and smashes his teammate.  OH!  Bulldog is airborne!  He's over FIVE, SIX TIMES now!  Searcy smashes into pathfinder20; now sideshowPA's involved.  Massive wreck takes out a HUGE chunk of the field as we hit the checkers!

Holy crap.....another exacta (and for once, it wasn't by me  ).

(Disclaimer I always make when posting these:  Nobody was killed in any of these crashes.)

Perfect description of today (and that last clip could describe Tom and I while Willy cruises to a win with exacta :-D ).

What a way to close out the regular season......

An appropriate finish to the 2006-07 CSS regulation.

Every single person in this forum is gonna remember this season of CSS for years to come.  We've seen it all:  QSWs, exactas, near-exactas, Big Ones, $3 overbids, a Blitz, $17,000 pianos, zillion-dollar trips to Switzerland and Scotland, and a showcase with the Dob.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Nine dollars.

NINE DOLLARS?

When I pretty much needed a DSW to make the playoffs?

Typical.

(Although, I was pretty sure catfan was gonna safety garf to lock his spot today...this might work out...)

It's been awhile since I did this...I don't think I've had a sub-$1,000 difference without a DSW since season one (where I did it twice).

Oh...and shouldn't a $687 total difference be worth more than zero dollars?  :/

We have one game left, on Tuesday.  After that one, I'll post the leaderboard.

And so, me and Armadillo's once-exciting season series ends. He wins it, 44-27. Disappointing finish by me considering that earlier in the season, we were both neck-and-neck and appeared headed for a thrilling finish. I just caught a nasty, nasty break, but I'm not going to act like that's the only reason the series became one-sided. While he did have a few bad garfs along the way, Armadillo really took advantage of my downward spiral and played beautifully, with today being a prime example of that. Apparently, the playoff matchups haven't been decided yet, so I guess he has one last chance to get in. He deserves it after the way he's been playing lately.

Just to be clear, Army's in 8th?

And more importantly, can a 1 point average difference be overcome in just one game? Should I feel in any way secure with my 74.06?

Well, you would need TWO people to overcome you, including one who's two points behind you, so you're pretty secure.
