Another from the sports file:

Marlin Briscoe, the first Black starting quarterback in the American Football League – with the Denver Broncos – passed Monday at age 76.

A native of Omaha, Neb., Briscoe was drafted in the 14th round in 1968 as a cornerback for the Broncos. He demanded to try at quarterback, and, as a backup, “The Magician” nearly rallied the Broncos to victory against the Boston Patriots on Sept. 29. He earned the historic first start a week later. He went on to a career that included stops in Buffalo, Miami (where he was on two Super Bowl championship teams), San Diego, Detroit and New England before his retirement in 1976.

I loved James in Misery. That and Elf are probably the only things I really know him from (I’m not as cultured when it comes to movies I guess).
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Gregory Itzin, best known for his role as President Charles Logan in the TV series, "24", passed away today at 74. This was a show I only recently got into watching reruns of this year, and throughly enjoyed each season. Especially for the number of recognizable faces from other movies or TV shows I have watched before.
