Narz, Poitier & Quincy: They Call Me Mister Tibbs/ NYSI
« on: February 01, 2022, 04:52:13 PM »
I made a discovery involving Quincy Jones, Sidney Poitier and Jack Narz.
The the 1970 follow up to the 1967 feature film “In the Heat of the Night” was called “They Call Me Mister Tibbs” (available free/Tubi) starring Sidney Poitier in the title role.
The main theme to the flick was a a cooler, calmer “Chump Change” reworked by Quincy Jones.
The first and last tracks of the soundtrack (itunes) is worth the $1.98.  You can imagine how they could have been repurposed on “Now You See It” for the ticket or prize plugs.  Though the slow pacing of that show probably demanded the hipper, more hyper Chump Change.
John, Rod, Rich... What is the next name on your list?
