TPIR Live question

Am I correct that the contestant selection process for the TPIR Live shows is totally random?  There is no interview like for the real show?

Yes, unlike the TV show it's completely random. At least the times I've been (last time 2016), they had tables outside the venue before the show where you would give the staff member your name and then you'd be put into the contestant pool. Not sure if the process has changed since though.
