Rod is announcing, though he’d be out for a bit with Bob Hilton filling in for him. According to Matthew Kaiser, he recalled a story Bob Hilton told when he sat in for Rod, after Rod became the new permanent announcer on TPIR. Charlie O’Donnell sat in for him on Press Your Luck for April 1-15, 1986

What? I doubt that's right. Nothing in the timeline about that. Hilton did have his final tryout the week before Rod became the permanent announcer in February.

There is nothing in that post to say that he did fill in for Rod at all on Price. He was just there.

Again, we have to see it to believe it.

Looking at this episode, Play Along wasn't used at all on any pricing games nor the showcase showdown, though it remains unclear if it debuted by this point. The earliest known that was used was on April 16, 1986 during the first showcase showdown, but it's very likely it debuted before then.

Also odd to feature Grand Game with a win that only featured the regular dings, no clangs and whoops were used.
