Press Your Luck marathon on Buzzr Sept. 16
« on: September 07, 2023, 03:03:00 PM »
Starting at 12 noon September 16, Buzzr is airing a 40-episode marathon of Press Your Luck in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of its debut on CBS (it actually premiered September 19, 1983). So what happened with the new season on ABC this past summer? We got a rerun or two but nothing else.

ABC moved PYL to the fall so they would have some new programming to show during the writers' strike. I don't know the actual premiere date.

this looks like a great marathon, does anyone know anything about which episodes are going to come on. (I hope they going to show both parts of 'the High score episode' this time)

I guess the whammies will not like the person who beat them so many times. but seriously I have written a lot of stuff but there has been so many good games here I decided to cut a lot of it out.

I want to begin by saying that the 2 o'clock episode from Saturday did not seen to have the correct subtitles set at least on my end. if anyone else noticed this I would love to hear. they had an issue last game show day marathon with an episode having the wrong subtitles that time it was for a completely different series.

of course this marathon was of course enjoyable even with the subtitle mistakes, one of the best moments was when he said in response to a letter to skip his brother who is a professor's class. that might make the next family gathering awkward.

I always get a kick out of all of the awkward looking people in the original version of opening.

(rest was done in a hurry, stuff below here got deleted due to highlight missfunction)

when did the scenes had a robot servant (I had the proper name but that portion got deleted) it had a picture of a robot serving a drinking glass. I do not know how they could of done that with 1980s Technology unless it is remote controlled was it with more controlled. The host mentioned something about actually giving that extrasensory book to the school, something seemed off, I cannot doublecheck until morning but I think she was trying to get at that it did not belong and was there a specific book, love to hear on it.

yeah like I said stuff got deleted and sadly it was the portion with the game related stuff and memories. there was one last thing. during the one of gean's games there was it interesting camera angle in which it is facing the host in a down look away. (it also shows the back of the 'whammy panels') why was this angle not use more often, actually why was there a camera there if this angle never gets used. just curious.

anyway I wanna say thank you for putting the episode list up my provider was not even giving some of these separate episode titles. (making them basically impossible to record on top of it.) it definitely helps to know which episodes were which even though I let some be to surprise.
