The power bill thing sucks.  You'd think they'd give a week or whatever before the power got cut, and if so for that to get to that point is not cool.


What also sucks is a One Away wipeout.  First one in over 32 years.  Third overall on record I believe.  At least the one in 1988 was 4 digits.  It's sorta tough to error, but painful since it's the contestant's game to lose with the first number being the only thing right if one gets it right.

Tough break in Pass the Buck.  That was a very nice & respectful contestant, BTW.  Total good sport

The very first time I saw One Away played from around 1984/85 it was wiped out on a four digit car. Left a bad taste in my mouth for that game.

I’ve always thought that in the event the contestant gets no numbers right, the sound effects lady should play a car crash sound effect, keeping in the spirit of the game.

When the contestant chose the "4" for the first digit in the SUV price in One Away, which I knew was wrong, I will admit that a small part of me was hoping that he would get all of the other digits wrong, just because the odds are greatly against it and I also knew it hadn't happened in a LONG time. Anyone else? I'm glad he ended up winning his showcase.

And speaking of against the odds, another wipeout in one of my favorite games: Pass The Buck. If only he'd gotten the chocolate syrup price right as well.

YES! I feel kinda terrible abut it but I always like to see rarities like this, and find myself hoping for total collapse once a contestant starts trending in that direction. Just the rare pricing game bad choices and wipeouts- but not like the pure misfortunate losses in Plinko and Pass the Buck today. I, somewhat shamefully, really enjoyed seeing a complete faceplant in One Away though.

Not gonna lie, I was low key hoping Drew would milk the moment the way Bob would have, but he's too nice.

With the wipeout on today's playing of One Away being the first ever in Drew's time as Price is Right host, he may have to do what Bob did and start telling future contestants who play the game that the game continues if they have even one number right after they make their choices in the price of the car they're playing for. In his 15 years as host, Drew simply gave his spiel about the "Mighty Sound Effects Lady" and having the player ask if they had X numbers right, and didn't mention the little rule about needing to have AT LEAST one number right to continue playing.
One thing the sound effects person could have done but didn't on today's playing was play the fog horn in addition to the losing horns. There's video on You Tube of that playing of One Away from the early 1990s where a contestant didn't have even one number right in the price of a Lincoln, and they played the fog horn in addition to the regular losing horns for losses in pricing games.
As if that rare wipeout on One Away wasn't bad enough, getting BOTH "Lose Everything"s in Pass the Buck with 2 picks was even more rare bad luck, which begs the question "How many times has a contestant gotten 2 picks in Pass the Buck in its 21 year history only to pick LOSE EVERYTHING with BOTH picks?"

I figured he was done as soon as he thought 4 was the first number in One Away. I also told my parents that none right means no second chance...and that's what happened. The first in my lifetime, if nothing's missing. And if you mess up like this, maybe an underbid in the Showcase is understandable.

Pass The Buck might not be as historic, but this is one reason I don't like this game. I wouldn't want to be the one to get only two picks and pick both Lose Everything spaces.

Also...some people need spinning lessons. I couldn't be sure that some of those Showcase Showdown spins would even make half a revolution.

I think the rule is fair considering that it was nerfed from its first appearance - where the contestant had to earn all 3 picks with 3 prices instead of getting one freebie. The board also had 8 spaces and 3 lose everythings so a perfect pricing portion could still result in zero winnings.

At least now with 3 picks, there is no chance for the contestant to reveal both lose everythings without at least seeing one prize.
