The bad news: Tough loss in Spelling Bee.  IMO, totally right to go all the way with an R.  Unless that's the only letter.  Two Rs for the loss is rough.

The good news: Nice haul for Sherry (spelling).  I so love the ninth player wins.  Nearly went the distance, but a More or Less win + $1,000 in the SCSD is a very nice day!

ETA: Off-topic...it shouldn't take over 24 hours for your power to return.  That's pretty much messed up.  It's not fast, but if obligations are met well before the end of a typical business day, it should be on by that evening.  If not, has to be first thing the next day.  The only exception should be if it's a big idea throughout one's area

With some better luck, we could've had two car game wins today. Painful to get 2 A's and 2 R's but no C. :-(

I fail to see what is "spontaneous" about waiting over an hour in advance of a scheduled departure for a trip. They could've had a car or a boat in the Showcase instead.

Just curious, when was the last time they didn't have the season premiere "vibe" going throughout the whole week? Seems the last several seasons it's been more like "premiere week," which hasn't been the case for this season so far.

For example if I'm remembering right, the season premiere decorations stay during the whole week. For season 51, the extra stuff about 51 years / 51 seasons was limited to Monday's premiere.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
