Rather lackluster show.  A couple of wins, though a very close & successful recovery from Lucky $even.  Nearly the opposite from that 1983 playing, but FWIW, a little luck to get to the 5th digit.

Two spin-offs, one in each showcase was nice to see.  Showcases?  Meh.

Nonetheless, the excitement from the contestants was decent.  Maybe a tad too much, but it was great to see people taking in & enjoying their time on the show

I too was surprised when I saw the first number in the price of the Lucky $even SUV was 3. (Lots of options added today.) That's the way things are going in general though. We will soon say goodbye to the first number being 1 for any new auto, just as we said goodbye to 4-digit prices. And I really can't fault the contestant that much for going with 6 for the second number; thousand-dollar differences are also becoming less and less significant. I would have gone with 2.

Very nice and lucky near-comeback though. :-)

My favorite contestant today: Hunter. That line about the "baloney" (possibly) being from 2010 was good. :D

Two four-prizers this week, full assortment of car slotting combinations in the shows... how oddly normal feeling for a week 1.

After a pretty boring lineup yesterday, this one was pretty interesting, following Tuesday and Wednesday as pretty solid lineups in their own right. They continue to consistently put 4-prizers 1st, and it was the first time Danger & NoT were played together since S40, as well as Danger/Half (that is a lot of door 2) since S46. As far as L7 2nd lineups go, which is about a 3-6 time a season occurrence now in the long first segment era, Danger is also a pretty unusual pairing with it.

Was this the first time Lucky $even was played for a $30,000 car outside of Dream Car/Big Money/other "special" episodes? And was it "that" long ago when the first digit in 3 Strikes was a 3?

I'm a little surprised Drew didn't make more of a deal about it; I remember Bob pointing out when Dice Game was first played for a $20,000 car.

The answer to that is yes. Excluding DCW L7 playings , all Drew Era playings of this game in which cars starting with a 3 , were all on shows that had some special theme ( earth day , celebrity week , less we forget, "Bad Moms" .... etc )

More stimulating lineups like this please, show.

They have to be gaining time on Come On Downs with the pod seating, right? This has probably been discussed while I wasn't paying attention last season. But I would think that the time saved is allowing them to try new (old?) things with the lineups these days. And it's fantastic.

That $30,000+ Lucky Seven playing came out of nowhere. One has to think we’re going to see more of those popping up as the season progresses and inflation continues to rear its ugly head.

Or the show is just using more naturally expensive cars.

During Now or Then, it's almost as if Drew discovered by accident that faking the reveal on the fake-butter provides some comedic tension which can be wringed for maximum entertainment.

Will he learn from this? Stay tuned....but likely not...

There are plenty of 2xxxx cars out there. They seemed very focused on SUVs (this one was a higher trim than Tuesday's Taos too) in the early going. Just use sedans instead, lol.

$4,048 for a mini "photo booth". I know it included an Apple device, but come on. I'd sooner pay $440 for a mini projector. :P
