The streak has been broken for Hot Seat, its first full $20,000 win since 2017. That certainly sent the discord g-r.net family ajoy.

Today was one of those shows where I was a little frustrated with the SCSD even though both were rather exciting.  To a minimal extent though!  To explain, I so hate seeing someone hit a nickel on the big wheel, and then a dollar in the second spin.  That is not cool & it’s happened more than 5% of the time I believe.  Though 5 or 15 wasn’t really a comfortable score either.  However, more on that later.

4 out of 6 including a big cash win in Hot Seat of all games, and a nice SUV win by showcase winner Craig!  Looks like Laura didn’t need to buy a dog; she did give her decision to go for $10/$20 Large some thought, especially after wanting to change one of her picks.

Speaking of that, in the previous PG, felt like Omri wanted to change his last selection at first.  I’m not sure if the staff even gave him a fair chance or enough of a chance to do so as Drew wanted to confirm his winning guess.  Loved the patented “Everyone wins this game” from Carey, something Barker said back in the day & within the first (full) year/season.  It did have a decent success rate, not that much these days I don’t think.

While the winning total from a show’s “champion” being displayed everyday isn’t the end of the world, I was a fan of it when it was exclusive to a big total ($35,000).  Obviously it’s rather rare that showcase winners exit with a total under $30K.  If it were up to me, I’d make it exclusive to $60,000, which would’ve worked for Craig.  Nearly $70,000 including 2 SUV’s and some cash.  Similar to Austin on Tuesday, a very decent hour on TPIR!

So Craig win the SCSD with 10 cents, albeit by default.  Thinking back, I wonder what may have happened had Jeanine survived with 20 cents or even a dime, as Omri went over.  Omri probably spins again regardless.  I guess we’ll never know.

I was so rooting for Samantha to hit a nickel for the $1,000 which would’ve made up for what happened with Jeanine.  Totally doubtful, and instead got the other big score that wasn’t a dollar.   At the end of the day, a lot of close calls; Jack, another ninth contestant that made it on stage, missed out on extra money, which would’ve been a nice consolation toward his tough luck in Lucky 7

Today featured the second lowest SD winning spin possible, 10, and the third highest combined two spin total, 1.85.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

The Hot Seat cold streak has finally ended. Praise be.

Also, today’s 10¢ win makes me think: I want to say the lowest legitimate winning score (as in not the last person to spin) is 30¢.

EDIT: I didn’t watch the Hot Seat part of the episode, so I have to ask, does anybody know if they changed the “$20,000” lower-third graphic to the current Pricedown-font one? It’s been so long since a win on this game that the last time it happened was when the CGI graphics were still be used.

Ooboh, I believe the winning total has been updated to match what they've been using for Grand Game, the SCSD, and the Showcase graphic.  Someone else will confirm before I get around to double-checking.  Much improved based on the previous one, and that goes for everything, not just in Hot Seat; it has been a long time

ETA: Man, I wish I was in chat today.  It was a great episode, but as a Western PA guy, I missed out on yet another Philly joke.  I would've called it an auto passcase, regardless of whether it ended in a surprise car.  Though I think I may have bid on it with a trip to Rome, especially as a car/SUV winner.  I do wonder if Craig would've passed had SC #2 been shown first instead of second

I don’t know how the producers choose the reveal order in Hot Seat (outside of correct vs. incorrect), but I wondered why the radio was revealed before the translators. The radio was a much lower price spread, which would have made the $20,000 decision to go for it much harder.

Anyway, glad to see that game won.

Once the teeth whitener was picked third for the Hot Seat reveal, I felt we would have a full win. Five blue's or five red's would be just dirty.

Also, today’s 10¢ win makes me think: I want to say the lowest legitimate winning score (as in not the last person to spin) is 30¢.

I'm not sure what to make of that when we had someone spin the nickel before managing to go over.
