I was able to get the show's total for her winnings:
- $645 IUFB
- $3,096 prize package for Safe (which includes the $350 for the combination)
- $1,000 on the wheel
- $12,737 for her showcase value

And the total comes up to $17,828 in adding up those figures! so the show did get it wrong with the total they had for her ($17,478)

645- Item Up for Bid + 3,096 + 350 = $4,091

$4,091 + 1,000 = $5,091

$5,091 + 12,737 = $17,828!

Checked it Three times and that's the total I came up with! It pays to watch TPIR with a calculator on hand, especially on these vintage episodes. I should work as a comptroller or something for the classic PIR. I try my best to be as accurate as possible in my recaps in regards to prize values.

OH! I Think I know how the show made that mistake- they didn't count the prize she won in the Safe Crackers game! in looking at the total they had plus what I came up with, there is $350 not accounted for.

The $3096 includes the $350 safe crackers combination; you're double-counting it in your math

That's probably where I got confused. I thought the $3096 was the trip- I didn't know they added the price that's on the combination
