Triple Play showing up 5th for the 1st time in show's history. Also, we had our 1st Triple Play / Bag lineup since 2007.

We had some terrible IUFB guesses today including someone seriously bidding $175. We also had a wipeout on Triple Play. The contestants must have thought they were playing in 2002 and not 2022.

Tough setup in It's in the Bag on the last two bags, both of them were total toss-ups.

It was pretty heartbreaking those three women lost Triple Play on the first car, since they were easily the most fun contestants of the day. Is the 4th position the only spot Triple Play hasn't been played in now?

Crazy expensive Philadelphia trip and first Showcase.

Wishing your ankle and your car a speedy recovery Adam.

This show was one of the worst-produced, worst-planned out shows in the history of the Price is Right. It reminded me of the season 37-38 era. I'm glad we've gotten to an era where things are consistently much better than this, but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be called out when it happens:

-Triple Play should never ever be 5th. Doesn't work. I will give the show that the setup might have been competent here and they probably got the one group in the studio that couldn't get past the first car, but it doesn't make slotting any less bad.
-Having only one car game on anything but a kids show just makes you look cheap.
-Having a semi hard Bag setup for 16k and then an unlosable Vend setup for 15k is bizarre.
-I thought we'd gotten over shows starting with Squeeze Play and Switch? Doing it on a supposed "special" like this is bad.
-Going out of your way to have splittable prizes the whole show to the point of ruining the lineup and then having a completely "normal" 2nd showcase also looks bad.
-The one segment this show that started out like it might actually be good, Drew connecting with the group of three old friends that had been friends for 70 years, got ruined just a bit by the inappropriate bizarre Philadelphia social club prize.

It's clear they're going to keep shoving this stuff in our face on the special shows because they think any gimmick is a good one. While I agree it is nice to have changes sometimes, especially on "special" shows, I urge them to put quite a bit more thought into the presentation than they did today. This entire show played off as amateurish, and that's not a word I've had to use in awhile.

Says you.  I actually find it refreshing that the show can slot any game into any slot within the show.  Truly means you can play any pricing game at any time.

Recap posted. Couple notes:

I loved Sandra, Kathleen and Linda. They were enjoyable television just watching them out stuff about each other. They were what I like of contestants.

Now, this is the last show for 10 days. The next show will be December 5, 2022. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. I will be resting my bum ankle.

That would be hilarious if it weren’t so true.

While fair, I turned down 911. Just a sprained ankle and I had to get to my mechanic.

Let's focus back on Price

Adam, the difference is $12,888 not $14,888. If the difference was $14,888 that means the showcase would have been $46,888.

Once again, someone I wish made it to the Showcase. I wonder how Sandra, Linda, and Kathleen would've handled it?

Says you.  I actually find it refreshing that the show can slot any game into any slot within the show.  Truly means you can play any pricing game at any time.

I didn't have a problem with Triple Play in the 5th slot, but it wasn't that necessary either.  I agree it's decent to have a pricing game in a slot that I wouldn't bet on (for example, Road sixth).  As long as it's (close to) a one-time thing, IMO.  It's a special/themed episode, so I wasn't upset about it.

I was upset overall with the episode.  I'm not one to grade a PIR episode; if I was asked, I would've given it an F.  That was my thought late in the first half, but at the end of the day, I still wasn't happy.  However, I still don't think it's enough to put it in the category as the worst episode of all time.  Just my opinion; it still wasn't a good episode at all even though things turned around at the end.

I wasn't a fan of the set of contestants (group of 3) for the special.  2 would have been okay.  In my opinion, they swung & missed with trying to make this Thanksgiving show very special.  Sandra, Linda & Kathleen and their segments were great to see.  Well, not them losing Triple Play.

I pretty much share Kev's thoughts on the special.  I wasn't a fan of Bag for $16,000.  $30,000 would've been okay, something divisible by 3, but even not, playing for the regular prize was in fact cheap.

TPTB for TPIR have made a ton of decisions over the past decade, and at least most of them have been positive.  This episode was not good.  As for the showcase, a rather surprising decision to keep it, but I actually thought it was the better decision since the other SC wasn't that spectacular.  The trips weren't won but I didn't have an issue with the decision from the top winners to keep it.

Finally, I agree with mechamind; Would've loved to see the bowling friends into the showcase

*Had a hunch Triple Play was going to get played, but wipeout was truly an unlucky 13K.  Just knew they were going to lose.
*Loved the Vendoprice win.  Only win outside a showcase that was not a trip.  Two games for cash is an anomoly, but planning the prizes is tricky when every contestant is a team of three players.

I don't feel the Friendsgiving special went well because they were trying to fit a holiday/occasion that really has nothing to do with the show.  Even the traditional Thanksgiving shows of past years were a stretch: what more can you do besides bring on a chef and have some fancy cooking tools, offer a new kitchen and dining room and maybe a trip to Plymouth Rock?  Not every holiday needs its owned themed episode.  They could have just done themed Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving showcases and have called it a day.

Also, I was good with only one car game but Triple Play should have been played 2nd or 3rd.  You don't want to go through most of the show wondering where are all the cars?   And I just knew Triple Play would be lost on the first car once I saw those terrific sweet ladies; I just knew it. Oh well.
