Wayoshi:
While I beat da geniuses most of the night (especially Rent, which was so standard of a setup I won instantly), that Tesla really caught me off guard. Looked like another stupid DOB!

LiteBulb88:
Pay the Rent had 3 solutions:

Popcorn (4.99) < Ice Cream + Spread (6.49 + 7.49 = 13.98) < Candy + Mouthwash (1.89 + 12.99 = 14.88) < Supplement (16.99)
Ice Cream (6.49) < Popcorn + Spread (4.99 + 7.49 = 12.48) < Candy + Mouthwash (1.89 + 12.99 = 14.88) < Supplement (16.99)
Spread (7.49) < Popcorn + Ice Cream (4.99 + 6.49 = 11.48) < Candy + Mouthwash (1.89 + 12.99 = 14.88) < Supplement (16.99)

None of the geniuses played their games particularly well other than Irina & Alena.

JayC:
I knew Jordan was in trouble when he put the Nerds in the mailbox. Pretty easy setup, the supplement was obviously most expensive and the candy and mouthwash were definitely the least and second most expensive respectively.

Besides starting with 4 digit bids, Irina played Clock Game very well.

I'm surprised they allowed contestants under 18 to be contestants.

Once they showed the laptop and printer and freezer prices, I knew the moped and lawn mower would be the right solution in Take Two.

Ouch, tough break in Switcheroo. I just knew 2 would be the car number.

What a bid by David on the Tesla Showcase, I really thought he went over also.

kingpin623:
Is it just coincidence that 4 of my 10 favorite pricing games were in tonight’s lineup?  I think they did a pretty good job selecting “genius” games — Rent is like a Mensa puzzle, Clock Game is easily winnable if you know how to play, Cover Up has its patented strategy, and even Switcheroo has a better chance of being won if you approach it correctly (not saying it’s a shoe-in!).  I was a little surprised to see Take Two, albeit pleasantly surprised, as I don’t think it was a bad choice.  (I was maybe expecting to see Ten Chances, Race Game, and/or Cliffhangers in the lineup; still, the first half was pretty much what I had anticipated.)

Do the Math is really more “genius” in name only, but I guess if they had to have a quickie game in the lineup, at least they picked one for which the name fitted the theme, even if it is really just more a matter of > or < versus actual math.

It was refreshing to see a lineup that was light on the quickie games.
