I'm a old fogey (age 44 on 07/27/2023) who watched and loved the show when Barker was the host. I even love watching Dennis James, Tom Kennedy, and Doug Davidson shows. TPIR moving out of Studio 33 (The Bob Barker Studio) at CBS Television City won't make any difference to the young viewers that started watching either at the very end of Barker's era or with Drew Carey. For most of them, Studio 33 has no importance. It only matters to us old people who vividly remember what shows taped there in the 70s, 80s, 90s.
TPIR - 1972-present (Barker, James, Kennedy, Davidson, Carey)
Match Game - 1973-1982 (Gene Rayburn)
Card Sharks - 1986-1989 (Bob Eubanks, Bill Rafferty)
Family Feud - 1988-1995 (Ray Combs, Richard Dawson)
etc.,
I hate to see the show leave Studio 33, but nothing lasts forever. People die, buildings are sold, etc. It's not even CBS Television City anymore, just Television City. Whenever the move is made, I think they should retire "The Bob Barker Studio" and give the plaque to Bob or his family. I don't see any point in dedicating a studio that Bob never worked in as "The Bob Barker Studio". Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller Live)
By the way, what did the show do with the 300+ blue studio seats? I know they were dismantled because of Covid, but I assume they must be in storage at TV City.
