This show has had it all. I said in the comments where a low quality VHS recording of the show is on YouTube that they couldn't have set up a better premiere for Price's new permanent announcer. There's just one problem: Stephen has been in the blue space since the very beginning. I haven't been paying attention to Rod Roddy's auditions, so I have no idea if he's already familiar with the First Four Breakfast Club.
Stephen does have the last bid advantage. But with a premature $1 outbid already, that's no guarantee of success. If he messes up this time, then he'll be getting his own introduction to the Club.
And trust me, his relationship will be intimate.

Fun fact: the recap I used to build this recap on used the term "The Nursery of Doom". It was entirely coincidental, and was in the space for the sixth IUFB, so I didn't notice until I pasted over it with the info for Bullseye. |

Bob declares Pamela to be the biggest winner in TPiR history to that point. They certainly pulled out all the stops to give Rod Roddy the best start possible in his new role as permanent announcer for The Price is Right.
But at what cost? This also has to be a record for the amount of prizes whose ARPs have been lost to time.
And as I suspected, Pamela didn't need to worry about using the cash to pay for a vacation. It might even have been enough to cover the taxes on the Jag. |
