The prices of the showcases were just begging for a $1 difference in terms of how far away each contestant was from the ARP.

These days, whenever I see That’s too Much!, I know they don’t want anyone to win the car before the game begins. It’s just been brutal for the past few years.

I want to disagree about That's Too Much! being brutal. It actually makes me think of Range Game in a way.

It was interesting to see those three-digit endings for the Showcases. Me, I ended up blowing a $183 DSW on the Kia with a $316 overbid on Rome. I even added $2,000 to my bid on Rome at the last second. :rollold:

I used to have such disdain for this game, but then I did like you, and thought about it as a horizontal range game for a car.

If I ever were to appear on the show and had this game, my strategy would be to think of any 2 prices beside one another and ask myself if the correct price would fall somewhere between the two prices shown, rather than focusing on the "That's Too Much!" aspect of it.
