Any One Away exacta automatically makes for a good show. Also a textbook playing of Clock Game.

We are now up to $110,000 won in the Showcase Showdown this month. I don’t know if October 2017 would top this, but it’s just been absurd.

Excellent playing of Clock Game. :-)

Pass The Buck! One of my favorite games! More than one pick! $1,000 is indeed better than nothing.

Ok, probably a coincidence. But I noticed Kirk's bid of $1701. The USS Enterprise's registry number in Star Trek was NCC-1701.

^if you think that's anything more than just 1-upping the largest bid, I’ve got some jewelry to sell you, lol.

jmorgan, can you show your work on the game room, because I got $5,704? Adam and I agreed on $4,745 on the pool table and $509 on the air-hockey table, but I got $450 for the arcade cabinet (based off of SC1 on 5/25, $23,535 - $21,435 (base soul LX + 1 option, also lines up with 10/27's Roo playing) - $750 (Hockey Table, match with 3/29's Eazy) - $900 (TV, matches 6/9's description on Swap))

The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

Another TPIR recap site had Kirk's total at $10,719, so I just subtracted the IUFB and the regular Clock prizes. Those three totaled out to $3,315.

I was a little surprised the first showcase namedropped the Ghirardelli chocolate company without actually including anything from the company - say, a tour of the headquarters (that's why it's called Ghirardelli Square) - in it.

Rachel acknowledges Bob's birthday because of when this was originally supposed to air , then nothing after that. I wonder if Drew got edited out saying Happy Birthday as well.

Had things shaken out differently, we could have had James Kirk standing side-by-side in contestant’s row.

Brian

I dunno.  Everything's going up, so maybe not.  Even a nice night out isn't as "cheap" or affordable for the best places.

Just kidding.  While $1000 or $1500 might not cover an entire bill or a month's worth of bills, both amounts help cover one's bills.  Heck, even a $100 or $500 outcome would be enough for a nice discount.  $1,000 in PTB was great since the last thing is to draw both lose everything cards.  Those chances are great but it's been more than painful when it happens.  Of course, Nicole added more money to that $1,000, and while she fell short in the showcase, $12,000 will really help pay the bills for a year.

Still, it was tough to see that Plinko outcome, but I was more concerned that all 5 chips would fall into the zero slot.  Even if the 4th one had fallen, I was happy for Brandilyn the moment it landed in $1,000 for a guaranteed decent outcome.  Hate to see people win nothing following perfect pricing on TPIR.

Speaking of hating to see things, I wasn't a fan of a $1 bid to open up bidding for the final IUFB.  I do love to see a ninth contestant win his or her way out of contestants row.  It's great to see people in that spot win their pricing game, or maybe they win a middle gift in lieu of a car, but rally to make & win their showcase.

Well, a dollar bid to open up bidding is not great in any act, but it's bad when you have only one shot.  You have the opportunity to shut out the other 3 players (with a perfect bid) before they get to bid for the final time.  So, it was rough seeing that bid.  Nothing clever there; bid $450 if you think the other players might go over.  Fewer people will notice a $450 bid over a $1 bid that they might shut you out on with a $2 bid.

While I didn't think perfection was happening outright, I privately wished for it (and thought of a delayed horn to add to the suspense).  That was an awesome win & pleasant surprise from Showcase Winner James.

As Bob would say, "I tell ya, it is a wonder to me that there isn't smoke rising from this Wheel! It is hot!"

Outside of that, good results from the pricing games. Even the non-winners still got some cash.

I had a $17 DSW on the boat Showcase, and I also did okay on the Mitsubishi Showcase at $1,991 under (though I would've been okay on the latter even if I didn't shave $1,000 off my "bid").
