Aaron Rodgers' first game as a New York Jet started ominously as he injured an Achilles tendon just four plays in. A tear is feared, yet X-rays were negative. Jets won in OT, 22-16.

He is officially done.  Which was all but certain.  Similar to J.K. Dobbins, when you fear that it's torn, it's over.

I actually had to turn off the TV and the radio when it happened.  I'm not a fan of the guy, but I also think he's great at the sport.  No dislike from me, just meh overall, but the guy can play.  That was just not cool at all.  Very bad for the league, let alone the Jets and Robert Saleh.  Injuries to anyone & anytime are awful, but for that to occur in that fashion was just touch to absorb.

Edited for spelling

Atlanta 25, Green Bay 24 in a nailbiter. Jordan Love obviously outplayed Desmond Ridder (3 TDs for Love to 1 for Ridder who did throw for 237), but all came down to making key plays and Love not connecting with his receivers when he needed.

The Giants came back from 28-7 down to beat the Cardinals 31-28 following their disaster in week 1.

The Cowboys are also still really good, beating Zach Wilson and the Jets 30-10.

Some broadcasting news regarding Monday Night Football - as there is no end in sight to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, ABC will be simulcasting Monday Night Football for the rest of this season.

Patrick Mahomes will be eating good for a spell. He and the Chiefs have agreed to a reworked contract which pays him $210.6 million through the 2026 season. That and his State Farm commercials will ensure he won't miss many lunches.

Cleveland loses RB Nick Chubb for the season after he suffers a knee injury last night. No other details were given but speculation is his career is toast. Sixth year out of Georgia.

When you hear or see people saying, "Man, I really hope it's just "season-ending", you understand (and are happy) that ESPN and MNF did not show what happened in a replay.  Also you think of his life, let alone his career, and let alone this season.

Hats off to the fans for their show of support.  Just terrible thing to happen to a great human being.

Just announced : the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII halftime performer will be none other than USHER. I say Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and OMG. I think this will be a halftime for the ages  :-)

This is his second time performing at a Super Bowl ; he was a guest performer Feb. 6, 2011 at Super Bowl XLV on FOX. He is one of a few halftime performers to play more than 1 halftime show on different networks

Nick Chubb's injury is not a possible career ender. He tore an MCL which is not as severe as an ACL. He'll be out as.long as eight months but he is expected to be back.

Detroit 20, Atlanta 6. Breaking out the Ccook cliche book, Desmond Ridder was on the ground more than dog poop (6 sacks). Jared Goff simply outplayed him in spite of a pick.

One of the final scores in the early window include a 70 burger, courtesy of Miami & at the expense of Denver.  70-20 was the final score; first time in nearly 6 decades with that many points & the second time in the Super Bowl Era
