Texas completes the sweep. They'll await the winner of the Houston/Minnesota series.

Will it be an all-Texas ALCS?  We'll find out tomorrow!

The problem for the Phillies is Nola is either really good or a train wreck. He’s due to go completely off the rails. And if he does, it’s absolutely over.
And now for Atlanta Bryce Elder is a scratch. A.J. Smith-Shawver is now pencilled in. Either way it could get ugly.

Here in Philly, I can say the fans are way overconfident in a guaranteed game 3 win. Much of the local media as well. Collective amnesia about Nola's propensity to melt down.

Atlanta is favored, but it doesn't mean squat. We were favored in game 1 with Spencer Strider; he gave up four runs but his offense forgot their spinach. Strider throws in game 4. As for Smith-Shawver, he says he's not afraid of the Phillies but as this is his first postseason appearance he could get lit up big. May be a high-score affair.

UPDATE: Bryce Elder will start game 3 for Atlanta.

A slugfest wouldn’t surprise me at all. Atlanta’s bats may have been stymied for a bit, but that’s unlikely to happen again. If Nola gets rattled, it’s going to be a long night for the Phils with a dicey bullpen.

Boy, did it get ugly. Philly feasted on Atlanta pitching to the tune of six homers in a 10-2 beatdown. Wouldn't surprise me if they lit up Strider tomorrow.

The ALCS is set!  Houston devours the Twinkies 3-2 to set up an all-Texas showdown with the Rangers

And the #2 seed Dodgers will be watching the rest of postseason at home as Arizona advances.

It's been a wild postseason so far, but had all four division series been swept, I wonder if they could have moved up the championship series and World Series to finish early?

The only series that's still going on is the Phillies-Braves series, but the ALCS Lone Star Series edition is going to be one to watch, especially if the series is aired on the main Fox network where both of the Texas station affiliates are owned and operated stations. Fox Sports 1 may air some of that series as well.

Highly unlikely. Fans have already bought tickets and some will travel to the respective cities, so changing dates would make it difficult or impossible for them to attend. Also, the schedule has been optimized so as to put key games in the weekend and in prime time slots, which again would be lost if they changed dates just because the teams were determined early.

They're holding their breath on Bryce, but the Phillies are going to the NLCS.

The Phillies show they were who they thought they were. 104 regular season victories are meaningless when Atlanta can't cash in afterwards.

That's three 100-win teams that won't be playing in the League Championship Series round, which I don't believe has ever happened before, following the first ever occurrence of having two teams reaching the century mark in regular season victories being swept in the LDS round. As it is, the ALCS/NLCS will be quite different regarding rivalries. Of course, the ALCS will be the first time ever that two teams from the same state will get to play in that round, while the NLCS contrasts one of the newest franchises with a very transient population that tends to root for either their old team or tend to be more fair-weather fans, against one of the most die hard franchises in sports.

Game 1 of the ALCS is Sunday at 8 PM ET on Fox and will pit Nathan Eovaldi for Texas  against Justin Verlander for Houston. Game 1 of the NLCS (Monday, 8 PM ET, TBS) pits Zac Gallen for the D-backs against a starter TBA for the Phillies.
