Be honest. Loteria Loca or Raid the Cage?

Honestly? For me, Raid the Cage is more promising than Loteria Loca. Wouldn't you agree?

Yes, Raid the Cage requires actual skill in order to win. Lotería Loca is just random number selection — it’s Deal or No Deal, but without the offers, which really was the only redeeming part of the latter show.

However, I’ve always preferred big cash prizes to merchandise on game shows, and a contestant’s potential winnings are significantly larger on Lotería Loca than that on Raid the Cage.

Loteria Loca was CBS' lowest rated show of the season. It is being replaced with NCIS repeats but will have a special episode in December. There may be aditional special shows later in the season.

Loteria Loca would make a great casino concept, including a slots network with the same symbols seen on the show on the machines themselves, with lucky jackpot winners competing on a live show, and perhaps give Sheila E a gig for her fans by performing her hits during normal commercial breaks.

But I like how Raid The Cage resembles similar "grab everything before times run out" shows like Fun House, the second season of Video Power, and Takeshi's Castle. Sure, it's still filler, but quite honestly, game shows aren't really built for primetime outside of the summer or closer to the year-end holidays, unless if the franchise is well established. It's a shame that we're now getting reruns during a sweeps period during a non-weekend night that would belong more on a cable network like TNT, but that's what strikes will do.

Raid the Cage has kind of become must see TV for this house. As ooboh noted, it does require a degree of skill - the question rounds are a cool concept and you can play along with it, which is a must for any game show worth watching. The contestants are somewhat frustrating to watch, but not to the degree that it makes the show painful to watch.

My biggest problem with the show is the door to the cage itself, actually.

Ah, I see you watched tonight’s episode.  :-D

Yeah, I agree, there’s something that annoys me about the way that the doors close. For some reason it feels like it takes way faster than three seconds to close.

yes, it leads to people not being able to exit in the allowed time. (someone already broke the door this season)
