3 Strikes for a Mercury Chaser

That's a Tracer.

A GEO Hatckback Sudan

I'm guessing that was a Geo Metro hatchback sedan from its price of $7520. Interesting that 10 Chances was still only 4 digits by this time. That was a really cheap car in 1990; something similar would probably be only around $13000 today.

As somebody who gets all geeky over seeing what the prices were in those days, I like these recaps, but it would be nice if you included funny things that happened in these episodes and details on the Rod's excercise program showcase. Not many people get enjoyment out of a bare-bones account of the show.

This was one of the last playings of Give or Keep, if not the very last.

Kind of odd to open the show on 3 Strikes when it's being played for a cheap car. And I wonder when was the last time both car games were played for 4-digit cars.
"Atinale el precio" moment: Contestant Laila has jumped into Marco's arms and taken his microphone.

Laila: "How much do I weigh? Give me your bid."
Marco: "Er...without going over?"

Sally and I did a lot of talking about this episode last summer, and unless the pricing game lineup is majorly, majorly different from what was originally planned, it's not from anywhere near 1990.  It actually seems to be episode #7323D, from June 1989.  Its lineup is identical except for listing Golden Road instead of 3 Strikes; 3 Strikes + was played the previous week, and John theorizes that it was won and Road got pulled for budget reasons.  He says there isn't any episode from anywhere in 1990 that looks anything like this.

Well in Ten Chances Bob tells Walter that he doesn't know when a contestant has upset an audience like he did.

before the 2nd showcase showdown. Bob says that the pages had to lead three people out of the studio after 10 Chances.

Bob: Now Walter, the game is not as hard as you think if you watch the show. Do you?
Walter: Yes.
Bob: And you've seen us play that game.
Walter: Yes.
Bob: Well haven't you learned any of the new ounces of that game?
Walter: I guess it's just nerves.
Bob: Nerves? Well.... Oh now they're getting mad at you again Walter.

Hmmm. I guess I must've taped it then. I thought it was 1990 when I taped it but since then I have thought that it could've been from 1989 since I taped it in the summer.

Well, was there anything happening around that time that could help you remember when you recorded it?
