Dan Patrick?
« on: July 09, 2007, 03:49:06 PM »
Hi gang,

I just saw on the ESPN crawl that Dan Patrick will be leaving ESPN completely on August 17.  This will allow him to pursue opportunities with other networks.  Could there be some background goings-on to have Dan host?  I know that Dan announced on his radio show that he declined the offer to audition, but keep in mind that he was still under contract with ESPN at the time.

I'm not saying that I think Dan would make a good host.  I love him on ESPN, but he might be a bit too smarmy for Price.

Just want to know if there might be some dots to connect here...

Thanks

I listen to his radio show several times a week.  He's too dry to handle this sort of gig.  He's very professional, but not funny enough.  He's funnier when others are with him in the studio, but The Price is Right is a one man job.

In the story I read about his announcement today, Dan made it a point to reiterate his earlier statement, saying flatly that he's not the right man for the job.  So no... there are no dots to connect.
