Merv Griffin, PIR creator, gravely ill
« on: August 11, 2007, 06:10:37 AM »
Merv Griffin, the entertainment mogul, singer, talk-show host and horseman who has called La Quinta, Calif., home for 20 years, is in grave condition with cancer.

"Entertainment Tonight" sources say that Griffin's prognosis is not good. Griffin's representatives have not returned calls to confirm or deny the report.

Griffin, 82, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in mid-July after a recurrence of the prostate cancer he battled in 1996 was found during a routine examination

I had heard Merv was sick, but didn't realize how ill he is. BTW, he didn't create PIR, he created Jepoardy. and Wheel of Fortune.

Merv was a sub-host for Bill Cullen on the original Price.

Also this was already started here yesterday.
