I liked the "Family Feud" buzzer, and the accompanying canned "AWWWWW" that went with it!  :-D
I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for your love, affection and loyalty to me, drew, the models and.... The Price is Right....thank you for being such a "Loyal Friend & True". -Rich Fields (in an e-mail sent to me on 3/17/2010)

I support The Price is Right...even if nobody I know likes Drew Carey.

Surprised no one's mentioned the million dollar question loss cue from "Millionaire" or the old "Tacky Buzzer" that originated on "You Don't Say!" and was also heard over the years on "Hollywood Squares", "Baffle" and "The Gong Show".

Just thought of a SFX I wasn't crazy about.  The Disney Channel's CONTRAPTION (remember that?) had a buzzer that sounded like a duck being strangled.  Then again, the whole music and effects package was really childish (and you should have seen what the assistants had to wear!).
"Oh la la la la, hey, banana
Don't you step on its skin
Oh la la la la, hey, banana
Womble up de rubbish and put it in de bin!"

I, too, hated the Strike buzzer, particularly on ABC Feud.

I was also scared of the Sirens on Supermarket Sweep when a team won the $5000 hunt.

While watching Videos online this year, I was also freaked out by the Stinger "Buzz" when a player hit and letter not in the puzzle.  And I also got scared of the Wipeout's Sad muted trombone SFX when someone hit a wrong answer in the main game or in the Challenge Round.

just to make sure, the "stinger" cue was from the "$1,000,000 chance of a lifetime" right.
all of this can be yours, if you can afford it.

Here's one that comes to mind-- the combination drumroll and synthesizer "Bonus Shuffle" cue from the 1979 version of Beat the Clock. I had just looked at a YouTube clip of the Bonus Shuffle being played, and that music sounded very creepy.  8-O

Also, when I was a kid, a few GS SFX (particularly buzzers) gave me chills, but not anymore, now that I'm grown-up. ;-) They're kinda cool to listen to! :-)

Don't know about actual music cues, but while we're talking SFX.....the "Scrabble" bonus round win sirens and "Classic Concentration" losing horn scared me when I was little. Now, I'd give big thanks to whoever can find either sound in clean format. :P

here's where they both are: ( at least one of them)

< loves it when Drew Carey attempts to make an inspiration putt, and when it misses the hole, he just does a little second putt with the ball to sink it

( as was in his 500th show) ROFL!!!

i know this thread is a little old, but i recently thought of a couple cues.  fun house theme, all music from face the music, and, anything from merv griffin's croswords.  is it just me, or does the crosswords theme just a recycles wheel of fortune prize cue?  what do you think.
all of this can be yours, if you can afford it.

My vote definitely goes to the "Round Over" sound on Jeopardy! (whenever time runs out before all the clues are selected, which thankfully doesn't happen as often as it used to).

The losing "pitcher's got a big butt" cue on the '86 Hollywood Squares with that really, really haunting final note.  As if the rest weren't bad enough.

I was just about to mention the million dollar loss cue from Millionaire! When I heard it on the internet, it scared the crap out of me.

I'm not sure why, but when I was a little tyke (probably somewhere between 3-5, I dunno for sure), I would always hide from the TV at about 6:48, because that 'final spin' chime freaked me out something fierce.

Tic Tac Doughs "dragon cue".

Family Feuds buzzer, especially the one played when "fast money" was lost.

The Price Is Rights losing horns around 1976-1978.   And the double over bid horns.
