What an idiot I am

I made a phone call to a local bowling alley right by where I live. I used 1-800-collect. Boy, was that a HUGE mistake. I made a huge mistake there.

no. I had the keys to the vending machines (which is one of the duties I have at a local bowling alley), and I wanted to make sure that they knew if I had the keys or not

So let me get this straight.  You wanted to call the bowling alley because you had the keys to the vending machine, but instead of just calling them in a normal fashion, you called them collect for reasons unknown ?   Two questions.

1)  Did they accept?
2)  Did they ask as to why you called them collect?

I don't know.  I think THEY are much bigger idiots for accepting the call than YOU are for placing it!  You're mental lapse didn't cost you any money.  Theirs did!

So, in my never-to-be-humble opinion (thanks Dr. Laura!    ),  you are NOT an idiot.  And it wasn't a HUGE mistake.  Little?  Yes.  Huge?  Nah.
