Ugh, what a mess this was today. I guess one of the positives is that we all got to see the SSN 36 Christmas decorations!

According to the FAQ, we are back in the regular pricing game rotation and it clearly showed today. Not too much variety in the games save for a car in Safe Crackers.

It was between 50 and 64 in Money Game today. 50 kinda stuck out there like a sore thumb, and 64 looked plain weird...

I'm stunned we had a DOB in the showcase today. I guess I was thinking of the wrong kind of Mustang.

Isn't Christmas supposed to be a happy time in TBBS???
You can go ahead and call me "Mr. Money Game"!

I was at a job interview this morning, and didn't get home until about 11:25. So here's one of those "in the order I saw it" reviews:
Clock Game - This just goes to show how a good player can win this game despite not knowing the price (and vice versa). She was all over the price of the sofa but just couldn't get it nailed down until it was too late.
Card Game - My bid was $19500. Increasing the ranges has helped, but if you get the $1000 card you're still pretty much screwed.
Squeeze Play - I would've taken the 1 out here. Either way, Shula's must be awfully expensive.
Showcases - Huh. Usually I Garf the Mustang...
Safe Crackers - I kinda thought $470 as well. Maybe I should pay more attention, because I know we've seen the GPS before this season.
Money Game - Even though it wound up not mattering, I'm giving this game a :clipboard:. I got the front half on the first pick, but 64 definitely didn't seem like a very likely back half.
Grand Game - This also gets a :clipboard:. I was pretty sure the Kaboom was under $5, but I can see how a lot of contestants might not think that.

You mean this was the worst show in the show's entire 36-year history?!   8-O  Oh, all those poor contestants and Drew!  And on the first day of Christmas week, too, of all days!  I feel so badly for them!  I hope Drew didn't go backstage and bang his head against the wall afterwards.

Peace out to all of you!

Well, with any luck this was deliberately aired first because it had the worst win-loss stats of the whole week.   SURELY there are better things in store!

No, and perhaps not the worst ever since the show went to the hour format in '75. I really don't know. However, it's only the third time since I've kept track (Price Season 24 forward) that the total for the day has fallen below $10,000.

Today's show is about as bad a trainwreck as it can get.

Of the 'modern era', at least.  I'm pretty sure there were lower-budget shows back in the days of $2,500 cars and half-hour shows.  :)

Today is a  :clipboard: :headbang: day. Though, on the good side, Joseph won $179 on Money Game, Lauren (a 'so-called Aquarius Hottie', as Fieldsy said  ) won a sofa and all the IUFB items were won ( :rollold: ).

Safe Crackers - The chat was split on 740 and 470. I, seem to have a fascination with the number '47'.

Money Game - Dang peanut gallery, the truck/mid-size Chevy models may have some money to them, but the HHR (Hawthorne Municipal Airport  :-D) is cheap depending on the package.

Grand Game - As Footix mentioned,  :clipboard: . Peanut gallery foiled a win again. Great joke by Drew regarding telephone worker wages.

Clock Game - Poor Lauren didn't fully grasp the speed and memory required to work this game perfectly. Atleast she won a sofa!

IUFB #5 - Chat exacta!

Card Game - Diane kept encountering "one more time" deja vu. Unfortunately, with a $1000 range, she got pretty much foiled of a win with a fairly new model vehicle.

IUFB #6 - I believe it was with Brandon being called down that we got to see Rich Fields in his glory.  :-D

SC - GAK! Overbid for me on SC2, and DoB for the stage :(

Although it was fun to watch, this is a horrible start to the Christmas week. Hopefully tomorrow is better!

Was there a change to the script for SC2? I saw the closed captioning, and the tag in the CC mentioned something about "when they got their first union dues bill in the mail, the elves realized they were better off before complaining on the Price is Right". I have a feeling the network or someone made a change in post.

I wonder why Drew thought to stick the correct price tag for Safe Crackers on his forehead, I thought it was sort of funny though.

Drew was a little off in Money Game, he just yanked the cards off their spots and left the 64 card sitting on top of the car price area at the end.

I personally did not like how Drew just turned his back to the Grand Game board and did not look at the prices and just revealed them in a bland fashion.

The $1,000 win in the first showcase showdown made up for some of the agony in the first half of the show, it's a shame the wheel did not slow down enough to hit 15¢ in the bonus spin.

Lauren clearly did not know how to play Clock Game, she went back to $750 even though Drew said higher on her bid of $775.  She had absolutely no chance on the spa and she garfed on the price of the spa with the couple of seconds she had left.

That playing of Card Game was just evil, a Dodge Nitro is a little too expensive to be offered in this game.  Diane was unsure of herself when she was making her last couple of draws.

Squeeze Play was just plain evil, a price ending in "95" looked just so right but the 9 had to be removed.

A heartbraking double overbid ended the day today making it another "El Skunko" I liked how Drew carried the end of the show to present his disappointment at the losses.

Argh. What a horrible day.
So, without adieu:

Safe Crackers: $740. Easy.
Money Game: I fell into the trap of $50 as the back end as well. Never thought it would be $64.
Grand Game: I was lucky I picked the cleaner...couldn't decide on the body wash, though.
Clock Game: Ugh. Had to be one of the worst players of Clock Game I had ever seen in my lifetime - unless someone's got a vid of a worse player.
Card Game: As soon as I saw the $1000 range card, I knew it was going to be a loss, hands down. I guessed $19,000.
Squeeze Play: I would have pulled the 1.

Showcases: No comment. Sooo bad.

Man oh man - was this the first 0/6 for the Drew Carey era? Or did I forget others?

Boy, this was definitely not the right way to start Christmas Week.  All 6 games were lost, and on top of that, a Double Overbid happened!  Maybe with all these losses, though, we'll get to see some more expensive stuff later on in the week.  The last time something like today happened was November 3, 2006 (which also happened to be my 19th Birthday).

If there was any bright side today, at least $1,000 was won on the Big Wheel.  That was pretty much the highlight of the show.

When I first saw Safe Crackers, I had a feeling it was going to be played for a vehicle, seeing as how it's Christmas Week.  That was funny Drew put the price of the GPS on his forehead at the end.

Grand Game's setup looked much easier today than it has for the last few playings.  Too bad Charles couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.  Apparently he (and the Peanut Gallery) thought the body wash was cheaper than the cleaner.

I felt bad for Lauren.  She was nervous playing Clock Game.  I'm amazed that she won the sofa; I thought time was going to expire before she got it.

For the 2nd time this year, our station didn't start the show on time.  They joined right as Drew asked what the first item up for bid was.  At least they did better than the last time it happened.  In February, they didn't start the show until the start of Act 2!
