Opening: I've noticed in this and the last few episodes that the jib camera hasn't been immediately finding the contestants during the first four calldowns. It's been hovering over the general area, then zooming in quickly as the contestant stands up. I like this better, as it reminds me of the original pre-jib camera shots. However, they've added a zoom to the jib cam shot that occurs after the mic handoff; I prefer the sweeping arc over the crowd that they've been doing the past few months.
MYM: Why does it seem that every contestant lately doesn't quite understand how this works? Fairly easy setup today.
Dice: Bad luck on the rolls. I had a feeling that third number was higher, but the fourth number threw me also.
SCSD1: A telephone ticket plug?!?! Rather unexpected, but understandable--I mean, they should have another means of obtaining tickets for the non-web-savvy viewers since elimination of the mail plug. I think they should change it to "1-800" instead of "800", as I think it flows a bit better when read aloud.
Danger: Haywardetta must've thought the food processor was
less than the danger price...
Any#: I would've picked the numbers in just about the same order. When it came down to the final choice, I also said 6. Great dramatic win!
Grocery: I can't remember the last time a contestant used all 5 items in a playing. Kyle was very cautious throughout, but unfortunately he used the cookies way too early. If I were playing, I would have taken 8 Hot Pockets and 1 cookie to win. Gotta love the way Drew "modeled" the grocery items!
SC1: I really enjoyed the TPIR News showcase. I didn't realize Gwendolyn had an accent. Anyway, I do hope they reuse this theme in the future featuring the other models. Maybe eventually Rich could get some showcase acting time by being featured as the anchor...
SC2: Ouch, over by so little...
I'm also wondering if they gave Gwendolyn extra focus on things like today's showcase because she'll have to leave soon (for obvious reasons), so they're making sure to give her extra time to "make up for it"? I don't know, just baseless guessing.
I've been noticing on the last few shows during the showcases, they're featuring Gwendolyn in only one showcase (usually with little moving around) while the other two models are featured in both. During the rest of the show, she also seems to be slotted in such a way that she doesn't have to move around too quickly to opposite parts of the stage. Gwen does seem to be getting more camera time, though, by Drew mentioning her pregnancy often and being seen in a few more of the shots during the credits.
