1997, actually.

I was addicted to FAM gameshows back in the mid-90s and taped the entire run of "I'm Telling!" which would be "impressive" if there were more than 26 episodes.

I also recorded 55 of the 65 episodes of "Small Talk" and was able to figure out the running order of the entire series, except weeks 12 and 14.

I nearly did the same with Balderdash back in 2004. I had an almost-complete episode guide before I lost it in a computer crash a few months later.

Rolf Benirschke. And you left out Bob Goen. And the April Fools switch was in '97.

I could go on for quite a while. In fact, I could probably crash this site with what I know. Ask me anything.

here's some rare game shows i remember and really wish would be added to gsn's lineup

1."pitfall":  hosted by alex trebek, this game took somewhat of a trivia trap approach and had a bonus game where the contestant had to successfully walk across a bridge (really a set of elevators) by answering questions right.  produced in vancouver bc  1981 and 1982 aired on cbc @ 2:30pm weekdays from 1981-1989

2."$40,000 chain reaction"
host: geoff edwards
aired:  1990-95 on global and usa

3."supermarket sweep alternate edition":
host:  tino monte
aired: 1992-95

4."definition"
host: jim perry
aired: 1974-91 ctv

5."win lose or draw"
host:  bert convy
celebs:  burt reynolds, vicki lawrence, richard simmons, suzanne somers, rip taylor, nicole eggert, many others
aired: 1987-1991 syndicated

6."the $1,000,000 chance of a lifetime":
host:  jim lange
aired: january 1986-may 1987 syndicated

7."trump card":  (may-august 1991):  years before the donald would first utter "you're fired" he hosted this short lived game show.

8."monopoly":  (yes this was a gameshow)
host: unsure
aired:  (june 1990-early 1991) sat nights 8pm

9."fox family double dare"
host: marc summers
aired:  saturday night 9pm 1987-89 on fox
differences between this and the regular double dare
-marc summers and harvey wore tuxedoes.
-the set was snazzed up with a purple tile wall behind marc to match the walls behind the contestant podia
-families of four played instead of teams of two kids
-often the grand prize for finishing the obstacle course was a new van or vacation to disneyworld

10.get the picture:
host: mike o'malley
aired: 6pm weeknights on nickelodeon (1990-january 1992)

Filling in gaps, "Monopoly" was hosted by Mike Reilly, and it was actually at 8:30 Saturday nights, a 13-week run ending in September of 1990 and coinciding with the "Super Jeopardy!" tournament on ABC.

And I actually remember the rules!

The rest of this answer is hard because I'm trying to come up with something that game show geeks wouldn't even know!

I know what a "trilon" is--the rectangular-triangular prisms used in the old-style Pyramid board and the original Wheel of Fortune display. The best example in "everyday" life would be the Toss Across beanbag tic-tac-toe game, which also uses trilons.

They also used that on the big Family Feud board during the Dawson and Combs years. I remember seeing the electronic side of the board reading out "FAMILY FEUD" (the same one used in Fast Money) and rotating to the Survey board. If either Richard or Ray started off another round, the board would rotate to another Survey board, and just before commercial, it rotated back to the electronic board. Nowadays, the current Feud uses TV screens that don't even come close to resembling the classic trilon board we all grew up with! Ray would be spinning in his grave if he saw this. And I don't think Richard would've liked it, either.

I think the old electronic board was cooler on the combs version than on the dawson version!

Win Lose or Draw was actually on GSN's lineup a few years ago...  They were only showing the 1987-89 syndie version with Bert Convy, not the 1987-89 NBC version with Vicki Lawrence or Robb Weller's 1989-90 syndie version.

I think it is safe to say that most of us here, especially the regular chatters, have are extremely geeky about TPIR since we can usually accurately tell you what pricing game is to be played next by what number of the game, the camera angles, stage placement of the host, and music cue.

Let's face it, we are all geeks.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.

As far as personally, I have memorized the Press Your Luck Board and have more than 300 episodes of the $25,000 and $100,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark on tape.  Not to mention I have pretty much every book on the subject of game shows ever printed.
