« on: April 21, 2008, 06:18:04 PM »
This puzzle is a particularly easy one, so it should take you no time to get one Raffle Ticket closer to winning that T-Shirt!

For the sake of fairness, please don't post hints or answers to this brainteaser below.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hurry!  You only have 9 seconds, but you should know which tags go where in your playing of "Race Game".

Can you make the proper switches in time to win all four prizes?  The moves you have made, as well as the number correct for each one, are shown below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to win your raffle entry, you must send an E-Mail (to the address in my profile) or a Private Message to "apeminkie" that includes your Golden-Road.net username and a solution that you have found based from the rules and information in the above puzzle.  Your entry must be received in my E-Mail Inbox, or Golden-Road.net Private Message Inbox, on or before Friday, May 2, 2008.  Only one entry to this puzzle is permitted per username, so be sure that you check your work before you send a solution to me.  Good luck!

GRECO 4: The Puzzle is Right #3 [Answer]
Analyzing this puzzle, move-by-move, you started with this set-up...
A - $895
B - $1,699
C - $2,098
D - $1,300

...and determined that all of those prices were the assigned to the wrong prizes.

You then moved around some tags...
A - $1,699
B - $2,098
C - $895
D - $1,300

...to find that one of those were right.

Since you didn't move the $1,300 tag from prize D, we now know that prize A costs $1,699, OR prize B costs $2,098, OR prize C costs $895.

After swapping the prices of prize B and prize D...
A - $1,699
B - $1,300
C - $895
D - $2,098

...we learn that we have none of the right matches again.

This tells us that either prize B OR prize D was correct to begin with, and since we already concluded that prize D does not cost $1,300, we can safely assume that prize B costs $2,098.

After determining the remaining correct prices by solving the chart above, you rush to fix the tags, run back to the "jukebox", and pull the lever...

You are a winner!
But you are even more a winner if you submitted the correct solution to this puzzle--there was quite a few this time!
