That was a quite breezy episode, particular with the big wins on the "Let Em Roll" and "Most Expensive" pricing games.  I thought the Lazy Models Showcase was quite amusing at least for a chuckle, with Lanisha, Gabrielle and Rachel playing those roles in that manner just right.

By the way, thank you for putting the Showcase reveal here for this particular episode, as you have done in the past for all the first run broadcasts of Price on the website.  WCBS-TV Channel 2 here in New York City opted to pre-empt the last seven minutes of Price, not waiting for the noon newscast, for a mayoral press conference instead.

I give the episode, despite the station interruption, this rating: 4/5.

Did anyone notice when Ruben was called to come on down, another lady decided that she would come on down as well??

Sheesh, what a quick lineup today. It's lineups like today's that you can really see the effects the cuts in time have had-3 ultra quick games: Flop, ME, and P-A-N and the rather quick gp/car "Roll."

I do have a question: Was Pick-a-Number a substitute for a game like Bonkers or Range Game today? I honestly thought according to the time it started (38 minutes after the hour) that there was time to play a little bit longer game than what was played.

Range Game takes no more time to play than Pick-A-Number, believe it or not.

½ Off:  I would have said the speaker was ½ off, simply because it ends in 5.  $79 as the ½ off price is a little harder to calculate the actual retail price.

Cover Up:  3 was the lowest possible number for the 4th digit, and that’s what I would have picked since low numbers are often used for the 4th digit.

Pick a Number: Again?  All right!  This is one my favorite quick games.  Drew seems to handle this prop rougher than other props, such as the props to Bonus Game.

SC1:  My Bid: $25,330 / Diff: $3,460
SC2:  My Bid: $27,115 / Diff: OVER

As for the line-ups, this one seemed shorter than other ones.  I guess time cuts are once again taking its toll on pricing games played.

I too noticed that lady coming on down as well when Ruben was called. I don't know if there ever is a lady named Ruben. All in all it was him and not her that was called on down.

1/2 Off: The last pair of SPs were pretty tricky in my mind. I too went with the translator. Tough loss for Stacey.

Flip Flop: I too would've flopped only. I'm pretty shocked that trip to Paris would be over $9,000.  8-O Of course that's just me. I don't know about you guys.

Let Em' Roll: Very nicely played by Christie. With those excellent rolls she wins the car.

Most Expensive: I too would pick the scooter. Pretty easy.

Cover Up: I would definitely get the price of the car exactly right. It was a gut feel. No gut feel for Mallory unfortunately.

Pick-A-Number: I too would say the 4. Good for that audience member whoever he or she is getting the 7 right.

Showcases: This was definitely a case of garfing over an overbid here. That lazy models showcase was really amusing.  :oldlol:

It's a shame that neither of the models today dawned a two piece swimsuit.  :P

I love how Drew knows so much about the fan community.  During Let 'Em Roll, he mentioned that by checking stats from the Internet, Rachel has the best winning percentage when she's modeling a game of all the models, which has to be a reference to the types of stats folks here tally (whinbaby's stats for instance.)  It's just very refreshing to see a host so connected with the fans and the contestants.

Hmmm, Drew didn't do an "alakazam" reveal for ½ Off and Flip Flop.  I wonder if he is tired of it or just trying something new to reveal prices.

I think after Drew mentions how Rachel has the highest winning percentage when she models prizes, it shows that he really checks out the fan community here at G-R.net.  I think Jacob Wilkey (whinbaby here on G-R.net) really liked that bit by Drew.

I don't think I have seen anyone shake the bucket in Let 'em Roll as hard as Christie.  It was great to see her win the car; she was such a fun contestant to watch.

Mallory said she attends CalState Northridge when Drew and she had a chitchat.  Wasn't that Randy Amasia's alma mater after his appearance on Whew back in 1979?

Call me a geek, but I loved how the lights looked like they were like feather headdresses for the pylons in Most Expensive.

Pick-a-Number sure is getting a increase in playings this season.  I think I actually am starting have a new appreciation for the game as a quick one-prizer.

Man, we have been seeing more Mercurys than in recent years.  Pretty nice, but I am still waiting for a Buick to pop up...

I usually record the show to DVD and as I also live in New York, I ended up seeing the Mayor Press Conference as the car (from the Space Missions showcase) was being revealed.  Thanks to Golden-Road.net, I know the result of the showcase round and I know that car wasn't won.

1/2 Off: I was figuring number 16.

Flip Flop: I knew he would lose when he just flopped when he should've flip-flopped.

Let 'Em Roll: That was an easy win there. Great one.

Most Expensive: I was torn between 1 or 3. Great win.

Cover Up & Pick a Number: Tough losses.

½ Off: I had to choose between the [1]st, Lucky [7], $[10],000, and [16]? Hard.

Flip Flop: I knew to Flop, but a trip to France, though.... personally a tricky one here.

Let 'em Roll: I had a very small sense of nervousness with the Freeze Away. I wonder if I should take the $1000 and forget about the Focus. Hmmm......

Most Expensive: Besides the obvious pick of the motorscooter, I guessed the guitar would be least expensive. I was wrong on that.

Cover Up: I would've definitely tried 18795 first. Yet we get another denied loss.

Pick-a-Number: Yes, having a model like Gabrielle would affect the price of the hot tub by $30-60.

Showcases: Personally, I cried bull on this one. I thought Mallory bidded okay for her showcase. I definitely would not have imagined a Showcase like that costing more than $25,000. Also, I thought Stacey was about $1,000 under my supposed ballpark bid of around 23000. I thought a Mercury like that would be more than $20,000. I'll bet it were those jet skis that jacked up the price tag amount.

$1400 for a portable VCR?!  Am I the only person who thought that was absolutely insane?!  Why the heck would anyone buy a portable VCR that costs $1400 when someone can buy a regular VCR for under $100?  Heck, portable DVD players aren't usually, or ever possibly, that expensive!  I'm very curious what market that thing is aimed at.

I loved Mallory's reactions during the showcase price reveals.  So utterly shocked that she was off by so much, and even more shocked when she actually won despite that :)!

It's a real shame Mallory won a supply of Icy Patch stuff.  We were this close to having two contestants in the second showcase showdown with exactly $1400 worth of stuff.

Flip Flop was tricky.  European trips are usually unusually cheap.  On another note, I have no idea how Justin could understand what the heck his friends were telling him to do.  Those were about the least-decipherable hand singles we've seen all season.

We actually got to see the "3" in Most Expensive light up today!  Doesn't seem the camera usually catches that exact moment.

Pick-A-Number bothers me when it's played like it was today, with the tens digit being the missing slot. It's led me to wonder---has the game ever been played even one time with the *ones* digit missing?
I'll put this in here, but I didn't want it to overshadow the more interesting topic of specials. Earlier in the show Mike and Beth talked about Jenny McCarthy's appointment to The View and it leads to Mike talking about her appearance on Price. Mike says that he and the staff mulled over whether or not to have her on the show because of the controversy that follows her. They ultimately decided to have her because she's "a great advocate for what she believes in." Now, Mike didn't specify exactly what he meant by "what she believes in" and what "belief" of her's that he's addressing, but that could certainly be taken the wrong way.
