Curious question about something on the Crowther PIR.....
« on: July 14, 2006, 06:57:08 PM »
There is a game in the Crowther PIR gallery called "Matchmaker".

I take it the basic premise was to match prizes on a board to win those prizes.

But....how did the game end?  Did you have to earn your picks of the board?

Just one of those curious questions that's suddenly bugging me in my head.  :-)

Hi Robert,
No there wasn't any pricing of small items in order to win picks.  The game began by picking out a number, which Leslie would then reveal and then another number.  If the prize was the same behind both numbers you won that prize.  If they didn't match Leslie would close off the first number and they would then try and match the prize of the second selected number.  They carried on with that process until a match was found.  Also on the board there were 4 numbers with the word 'ARRRGGH' on them and if you matched 2 of those you won nothing.  A lot like Concentration, probably where the inspiration came from.  This is the only game in the UK, or in fact anywhere that doesn't involve pricing items.
