i liked hit me as well, and have a theory as to why it was retired...someone mentioned above about the controversy surrounding how a soft 17 is played...and for the last few years i theorised that this was the reason behind the game's end...

It's a shame that this game got retired because it was too confusing, when, in fact, it was one of the easiest games on the show! Hit Me is a pricing game where you have to get to 21 by selecting two grocery products that are a multiple of 10 and an exact price. Doing so wins you the prize. The one major problem was Hit Me had a few flaws. Contestants were too confused at the grocery product portion, and usually the house either beat them or it went broke. Going broke involves going over 21 by either selecting a grocery product that's a multiple of ten, and either a five or seven, for example.
The set was nice with the deck of cards, but it's a shame they retired a time-eating GP game that would've been useful today. And yes, it was fun to watch the occasional bad contestant not grasping the game's concept of Blackjack. Hit Me was way too easy once you got the hang of the game, though it was starting to confuse too many contestants who didn't grasp the concept of Blackjack. I think I'll give Hit Me a 6/10. It was okay, nothing too special except it was a center stage GP game to alternate between Hi Lo, Pick-a-Pair and Check-Out. Unique concept, yes, but Hit Me was way too easy of a GP game.

This was one of my favorite pricing games because of the game's setup. It was easy, fun, and a quick game. The only reason I can think of for this game being retired is the rules of the game and contestants not understanding them.
